Ok … I just needed to catch my breath a little after a SUPER night on Friday night … but I was just hanging to let you know how it all went.
I am absolutely blown away by the generosity of my stamping buddies & their friends!!! I began the planning for the night thinking I might get 8 or 10 people along … and ended up with 18!!! It was a little squishy … but we did manage. My only annoyance was that I forgot to take photos!!! DARN!!! All … except some set up pics … and one of several of the guests doing their little gift packs.
A few of the girls had already finished their stamping … so they missed the photo!!! I will show you these card packs in a post sometime later this week (you have seen a sneak peek before) … but … they were lotsa fun and themed for the Cancer Council night … pink ribbons or daffodils.
We had lots of laughs … and a very competitive Auction … and so many delicious yummies to eat!!! I have to say the mars bar cheesecake was sensational!!! You should have seen the amazing array of home baked goodies … and some very yummy savouries, too! I have some lovely friends who truly made the night so special with their contributions to the gourmet supper. The coin toss was hilarious … with some rivalry going on!!! I wish you could have all been here to experience the bond and friendship … the fun and the generosity towards a great cause!
So … how did we do??? I can tell you that I am still stunned at the final result!!! Here are the details …
- $285 - Guest donations ($15 entry)
- $333 - Auction Bids
- $154.15 – Games & Competitions (gold coin participation + coin toss)
- $57 - Profit on SU! orders
- $135 - Online Donations
TOTAL RAISED FOR THE CANCER COUNCIL … $964.15 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you believe it!!! I am just so overwhelmed at how generous everyone was … and how enthusiastically they participated in everything on the night.
THANK YOUs … I wish I could give you all a HUGE hug …

- Lee-Anne & Debbie for their support with interstate donations!!!
- Tania & Linda … for their fierce competiveness during the Auction
- Christine, Linda, Karen, Tania, Tanya, Erin, Juliette, Mel, Kylie for your yummy contributions to supper – a lovely treat for all the girls!!!
- All my guests who generously donated coins to participate in EVERY GAME!!!
- All my guests who went above and beyond … tossing coin after coin … until their purses were empty!!!
- Everyone who bid on the Auction items … even if you didn’t win … your bid helped raise more money!!!
- Christine … who donated BACK her prize pack from one of the games … to the Auction!
- All my guests for their super enthusiasm for the games & competitions
- Julie A for travelling down from Sydney to join in
- Those who brought friends along … and those who helped other guests with their stamping!
- Erin, Christine, Tania, Linda, Karen, Tracy & Julie A … who all kept me company during the movie … and shared some girly tears!!! (Love that movie!!!)
- My dh (Gav) who counted money … cleared away craft stuff … cleaned the kitchen & was a huge support & encouragement to me during all the prep time
- My darling girls who also helped clean up mess which allowed me to sit and watch the movie!
- Stampin’ Up! … who so generously supplied many of the products in the Auction and Coin Toss … and also contributed towards prizes for the other games. My Girls Night In would not have been such a success without their support!
- Anyone I have overlooked … ???
So … I am absolutely thrilled … and so very thankful for such a lovely bunch of girls … who really showed me so much support and encouraged me beyond belief. Thanks everyone for coming along … I hope you had as much fun as I did … and I hope many of you are now enjoying your SU! goodies!!!
Sandy update to follow!!!
Oh … and I do have 2 packs of cards (make & take) that were left behind. I will email everone to check who they might belong to … but … if one is yours … just let me know!!!

congratulations on such a terrific event. I held mine on Saturday afternoon raising over $700 which was a lot more than my goal of $500 (and it is still growing by the day), it was amazing how generous friends are for such a great cause – the Cancer Council. Fantastic effort by all.
Andrea adds: Wow! That is a fabulous result, Kathryn! Yes … my friends were very generous too! Sorry I haven’t been by lately … download limitations are hampering my blog hopping. Will visit asap!!!

Hi Andrea
I am so glad you had such a wonderful night, and that your event went so well. You raised such a great amount of money, that is really fantastic. I’m sure you had lots of fun, it would have been such a great atmosphere. I would have joined in with the girly tears during that movie, it is one of my favourites.
Again, congrats on a great night. Your enthusiasm and hard work is going to be such a blessing to the Cancer Foundation. It is such a great cause.
You take care, after reading your other posts it seems you could do with a good cup of tea (or coffee) and a time of putting your feet up. I can’t believe Sandy was at the hospital again. I am so glad it all turned out okay though, but I can imagine the stress you must be feeling. So many things in such a short time. I will be praying that God gives you all the strength you need to get through all of these little hurdles.
Hope to catch up on more of your blog posts and gorgeous creations soon. Have a wonderful week, try to get some “me’ time soon.
Love Lee-Anne
