Hello everyone!
It is newsletter day … but I just felt I needed to do a proper post for you all … before I get occupied with my weekly school task! I can’t even begin to explain how exhausting last week was … for various reasons … but I won’t bore you with details … suffice to say … there was NO TIME FOR BLOGGING … NO TIME FOR BLURFING (blog surfing) … NO TIME FOR CREATING … NO TIME FOR ANYTHING MUCH AT ALL!!! But … when my guests left … I did allow myself a little “therapy” … and did find some time over the weekend to do a little creating. I promised myself that I would have a break over the weekend … and get back on track with all my responsibilities on Monday!!! (Today) … So … here I am!!! Yay!!! Yippee!!!
Not that I ever consider my blog to be a responsibility … FAR FROM IT!!! … It just does take time to sit and prepare a post … to edit & resize photos … to do card recipes … etc!
I love doing it … but it does take time and I really did need to relax after a draining week!
I’m sure you all understand!
Anyway, enough of the dramatics!!! I am sitting here at my desk with my beautiful farm view and with my 1st cuppa coffee for the day! (That is quite amazing … I think last week I would have had at least 3 by now … I must have had about 6-8 cups a day!!! My friend Anne who was here is truly a coffee addict!!!) Anyway … would you like to see what I was playing with over the weekend???
As I hadn’t had any opportunity to do any challenges for a while … I popped on over to a couple of my fav challenge blogs … the first was at The Pink Elephant … A colour challenge … Hhhhmmm … interesting colours … especially as we could choose a combo of brown & yellow with a colour of our own choice. Now … yellow is definitely NOT a favourite … so I went scrounging through my DSP scraps … and this is what I came up with!!!
And … in the end I was quite happy with it. I am sorry about the photo quality … obviously my tiredness was taking toll when I was doing the photography. And … for some reason … even with a little editing … I just can’t get the colours to come up quite right. The blue on this card is Soft Sky … but it does look a little dark, doesn’t it! And … the brightness is washing out the lovely leaf border. Sorry!!!
You might have noticed that I have done the Rock & Roll technique on the two main butterflies … my card recipe below … gives you the instructions about how to do this technique. It was nice to pull out my Great Friend stamp set and use it again … it is just such a sweet, useful and versatile set, isn’t it? Don’t forget … you only have until the end of this month to purchase this gorgeous and inexpensive little set. After Nov 30 it may disappear FOREVER!!!
So … I am off to do the newsletter … but … and itching to get back … so IF THERE IS SOME TIME TODAY … I will try and pop back with a bonus post!!! You all deserve it!!!
(But … don’t hold your breath!!! I never know until the afternoon submissions, just how big the newsletter is going to be … and how long it is going to take!) But … just know … I will be back here as soon as I can!
