Hello!
Another lovely challenge that I had a go at over the weekend was a sketch challenge from the Cupcake Craft Challenge Blog. Now … I know this is a square sketch … but I think it works just as well for a rectangular card … and I’m sure that it will still fit the challenge criteria! After all … the idea of a challenge is to inspire creativity!!!
So … here is my sweet card …
I actually had this image stamped & watercoloured from quite a while ago! It is from a gorgeous set called “Summer by the Sea” … which I no longer have … but I loved the adorable images … and am a little sorry I sold it on (to fund new catty purchases!!!
) I have several watercoloured images that I made when I was first learning how to watercolour … I practised and practised … but didn’t get around to making all the images into cards!!! So … I was going to create a new watercolour image … but I found this filed with my watercolour card … and decided the colours were perfect (similar enough) to use with my Tea Party DSP. (I have a mental blank with this DSP … I keep calling it “Afternoon Tea” - for some reason - but I am not sure why???) So … you will all have to keep that in mind!!!
I know the sketch asked for a butterfly embellishment … but that doesn’t mean you HAVE TO use a butterfly!!! Again … you can be creative about what sort of embellishment you do … flowers … buttons … ribbons … anything your heart desires!
You can see I have used the Rock & Roll technique on the butterfly again!!!
I would love to see your card … if you do try this challenge … so leave a comment with your blog link if you do have a go! If you don’t have a blog to display your creations … remember to send me a pic!
FYI (For your info): If you happen to notice that I have listed a “technique” under the tags / category for any post … you will find details of how to do it on the attached card recipe!
Anyway … gotta fly … prep to do for my Spotlight on Christmas Class … and I am working on my “hand-mailed” blog post. I know Helen is waiting to see what I managed to create with that gorgeous image. I will share one of them tomorrow!

There are so many things to love about this card Andrea. The way u have coloured the image almost has a whimsical/wistful feel to it…perhaps it’s just the pastely colours. The DSP provides the perfect backdrop to the image and the b’fly adds a real wow factor. U have done a FAB job on this card. I hope u found it very therapeutic to put together. Just magical.
