Hello everyone! I had such a fun day today … an unexpected play day with 2 SU! demo friends – Jenny & Leonie (Pepps)! I didn’t know it was happening until yesterday … but I am so glad it worked out that I could join in! Here is my day in pictures!!! ….

A brand new item in the new Autumn / Winter SU! Mini Catalogue is the WINDOW SHEETS! These come printed (as shown on this card) and clear … and are like acetate sheets that give an extra dimension to your card making! I love finding new effects … and these window sheets supply an WOW factor to your cards!!!

I have teamed the window sheet with a polka dot piece from the GORGEOUS “Cottage Wall” DSP that is also NEW in this mini catty. It is a beautiful range of papers … and I have already decided that SU! has excelled yet again with their amazing Designer Series Paper designs! SU! is sooooo good at creating papers that you just CAN’T resist!!!

You can also see the sweet stamped images … from the Cottage Garden Stamp Set! And … yes … the images in this stamp set are designed to match the window sheets & the DSP perfectly. Another fabulous advantage of SU! products! And … even more FAB SU! coordination … the gorgeous polka dot grosgrain ribbon in one of the new in-colours – “Rich Razzleberry”. I have pleated the ribbon for a pretty effect across the bottom of the card.

It is always exciting when a new mini catalogue is released … and the Autumn / Winter 2010 mini catty is especially FANTABULOUS!!! I thought I would share another sample using an elegant new stamp set called “Vintage Vogue”. And … of course … teamed with the delicious new in-colour “Rich Razzleberry” and “Soft Suede” … it is so easy to create a special card!

OCC Sketch + JAI #10

For Everything, Just Add Ink Challenge, Our Creative Corner Challenge, Sweet Little Sentiments

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Wasn’t it hot!!! It is so lovely to be having that last burst of summer … before we succumb to the winter cold! (Not that we can complain about our mild winters … here in Shellharbour!) It was quite draining watching Sandy play his first trial soccer match on Saturday afternoon in the heat … and then afterwards, Gav & Shane played in their trial match too!  I don’t know how it happened … but Sandy’s 1st div team was playing against a 2nd div team … and by the end of the match … I just wanted to go and give the opposing team’s goalie a big hug! He was so upset … to let 14 goals in!!! But … truly … it wasn’t an even match and I just felt so sorry for the other team! Next time I think they need to let a FEMALE organise!!! And … somehow there was a mis-communication with Gav & Shane’s team TOO!!! Our 1st div team turned up to play first … but the other team sent their 2nd div to play 1st … which meant that G&S’ team (2nd div) played the 2nd match against the other team’s 1st div! I think they did pretty well to lose 4-0! So … soccer season is upon us!!! Round 1 starts the weekend after Easter. (Sandy keeps reminding me to call it “football” … but since Shane has been playing from 6 years old … I have always called it soccer!!! Do we really have to call it “football” … I am so used to calling rugby league “footy” … very confusing for a NON sporty mum!!!)

Anyway, I didn’t mean to blether on … I did pop by to show you a quick card … and then I have to run and do the newsletter!

You can see that I have tipped the sketch layout onto it’s side! Just a little “tweaking” of the sketch … and I did add a tiny bit of Certainly Celery to the Colour challenge. A Little Treat, Cloud Technique, Family Phrases, Sweet Treat Cups

Hello everyone!

Just a quickie today … as I have lots of prep to do! And … I finally have a free day to do it … so I want to make the most of it! This is a sample that I was working on for my Autumn / Winter Mini Catty play day! Isn’t it sooo cute!!!

I have been wanting to try this cloud technique for a while. I saw it on Christine’s blog … and on a couple of others around the place. I think I might have even seen a pic tutorial somewhere … but didn’t take note of the blog. Some (like Christine) just simply used a scallop circle template or a scallop oval template … but the pic tutorial I saw showed how to create “uneven” scallops by creating your own template using a combination of the scallop circles, scallop ovals & a largish circle that had also been scalloped.

So … my first attempt was quite pleasing! It’s just a shame the photos didn’t come up too well! So … you can also see the cute balloon stamp … which is part of a new stamp set called “A Little Treat” and has been created especially to team with the Sweet Treat Cups. I added a frame around the cup that was cut with my Circle Cutter – details in card recipe … and of course the WOW was the bling!!! Just love those Chunky Sprinkles. This card was also roughly based on the CAS #82 sketch. (CAS = Clean & Simple)

I really love this sketch … so might even do one of our M&T’s for the play date based on this sketch! What do you think??? So … off to create some projects for my favourite stamping groupies! I imagine I will have lots to show you! Have a happy day!

How excitement!!!! I have just discovered a new challenge blog that is devoted to SU! products! (I can’t remember who’s blog directed me there … but THANK YOU for the link!) I had to quickly post this one today … before the links closed for entries!!! So … that means a bonus post for you guys! I hope you realise that is the second time this week!
