Swap Sisters Challenge Win!

Woo Hoo! I just found out that I had my first win at Swap Sisters!!! I am doing a happy dance!!! But … I can’t really take credit … because the win is a “random generator” pick … so everyone who enters has the same chance of winning the FAB challenge prize! But … it is still a thrill!

GUESS WHAT!!!!! I HAVE JUST FINISHED MY ALBUM FOR MUM & DAD!!! Yayayayayayaya! (As Leonie would say!) I just need to make a 50th anniversary card, now … and design my swaps for Convention!!! Off to Leonie’s tomorrow to MAKE SWAPS with a group of demo friends!!! Yayayayayaya!!! So … I just have to get those cards done tonight. And … hopefully find some time to do a PROPER POST!!!???

Hi girls!

I am feeling a little weary this morning … a nice coffee with my mum at the shops might be just the “pick me up” that I need! Here is a little sample I had filed that I created for the Cupcake stall at the school Country Fair in March. I thought I would quickly share it with you …

These were pretty quick and easy … and make a great gift idea! Our Everything Cupcake Stall was a HUGE hit at the fair … and took in the most profit for the day. But … there were two very talented and lovely ladies who spent hours creating hand made items for the stall … so they deserved the result! Gotta run … have an order to put in … and off with mum to the shops! Then I might finish that ALBUM!!!!!!!! Have a lovely day. Stampin’ Hugs, Andrea xxx

Hello!

I am quite pleased with myself! I only have 5 pages to go to finish mum & dad’s album!!! And … I still have 10 days to go!!! Admittedly … if I had a bit more time … the pages would be a bit more professional … and a little more impressive. But … overall I am quite happy with what I have done considering how little time I have had. I know mum will love it! So … I thought I would take some time out … to give you a card!  

I’ve gotta say … I LOVE this card!!! I know … I might need to buy a bigger hat … (to fit the big head!!!) You know how sometimes a card just comes together perfectly and you feel really thrilled with the final result. Doesn’t happen all that often to me … but this time it did!!! I really really love this new in-colour Soft Suede … and I am really excited that it is going to become one of SU!’s new core colours. I am definitely buying that re-inker now!!! All the images (except the phrase) on this card are embossed with white embossing powder … so it has an extra glossy / glamourous feel to it!

This is my entry for the latest “Stamping 411″ Sketch challenge. It was a yummy one!!!   Anyway … off to do some more scrapping. And … I also need to design my Convention Swaps! We are having a play day at Leonie’s on Saturday to do our swaps … so I had better have something in mind so I can pack up some suitable stuff to take with me! Ronnie is home (and doing well) … and Leonie figures she can still keep an eye on him … while we do our stamping! It just will mean he can’t run out and get our yummy fish and chips for lunch for us! Our “cabana boy” will have to behave himself this time!

So … team that with a CAS#85 (Clean & Simple) Sketch (above) … and you have a super quick … but super WOW! card!

This is one you can whip up in ten minutes. I did “stamp off” the Pacific Point (yes! you did read that right!) & Rich Razzleberry images so they were a softer colour to match the soft Pink Pirouette. The rest is totally self-explanatory … but all the details are on the card recipe below. The colour combo was courtesy of Sarah Gough who did a card recently using these colours and I tucked it away in my little brain to remember! I love visiting Sarah’s blog for inspiration! Why don’t you pop by sometime soon?

Hello everyone!

I am just popping by quickly! It is our ANZAC day public holiday here in AUS … and Gav’s sister and her family will be arriving soon to spend the afternoon / evening and have a BBQ tea. It will be another FULL house … with a couple of other of the kids friends here too! We had a lovely time this morning … went out for “brunch” to a lovely cafe overlooking Wollongong Harbour … the weather is just DELICIOUS!!! I am soooooo glad that summer is hanging around for  a little longer!

I wanted to share the watercolour pansies card that we made at stamp club last Friday. It is a technique kinda based on the Floating Watercolour technique that you use with embossed images … but the pansies are done without the embossing. But … before I go any further … I have to acknowledge that I totally CASED this technique from Mary Jo Price-Williams (Techno Stamper). But … I actually think I might have seen it on one of my regular blog friend’s blogs??? (Let me know if I did!) These gorgeous pansies caught my eye … and I just knew my stamp club girls would love them!  The sketch for this card was based on the Clean & Simple #82 sketch. (Click on sketch to visit site.) Isn’t it fab!   ……  Update 30Apr: Sonia reminded me that I saw these on her blog … how could I forget … cos I did giggle at her because she forgot to read the instructions for the pansies before trying them for herself! -> Sonia’s blog

Don’t forget … check my card recipes for a technique description for this great idea! It is soooo effective. (And … go back and look at my “Butterfly Delight” post from a couple of days ago! You will see this technique used for a great background piece!)

So … I better go make that pavlova for dessert! Did I tell you I am super good at making pavlova??? That challenge on Masterchef this week … I soooo would have killed it!!! How Excitement! I just found out via a kind comment on my blog … that I was chosen in the “Stampers Showcase 147” for the Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge! It is such a thrill to be chosen! Butterfly Delight

Hi everyone!

I know you are all dying to see the pansy card … BUT … I did this Colour Q challenge a couple of days ago … and need to get it posted before the deadline! Now … I would NEVER have thought to put these colours together! (What is wrong with me???) But … as soon as I saw this colour combo … I fell in love with it. This is a big surprise to me … because I think in the whole time I have been with SU! I might have used Bravo Burgundy …. hhhhmmmm …. maybe 3 times??? But … this combo was just irresistable. Perhaps it was the cute flower design that caught my eye??

So … this card also features the “floating watercolour” technique (minus embossing) that we used to create the pansies last night. I wanted to try it on a focus piece for this card as a display sample. I think it worked quite nicely as a feature background. Oh … and … sorry about the shadows on the card … I tried photographing outside this time. Still need to work on my photography skills!  

This card was also created for the ESAD-SU Wk 10 sketch challenge … but dumb-spud me … only read 1/2 the challenge … and didn’t realise that along with the sketch … there was a specific colour combo, too!!! DUH!!! So … I have learnt my lesson. I don’t know if I will have time to do that challenge now … especially seeing this afternoon is DEFINITELY scrapping day! Off to get started now! Stamp Club STARTS tonight!

Hello everyone!

I am really excited to be starting my Twighlight Stamp Club again tonight! It is going to be such a fun time … and we are going to learn some great techniques to add some WOW! to our cards. I have purchased some art books for the girls to make into technique books to file all the ideas that they learn at stamp club. I wanted to decorate these for the girls … but just didn’t have time to decorate 6 more books today! But … I’m sure they will enjoy decorating them for themselves! Here is a pic of mine …

I will be giving them a “step-bystep” instruction sheet for each technique … and … they can also add their card samples to the book if they want … using some dotto … so they can be removed later.

I will be posting this lovely pansy card sometime soon … so you can all find out how I did it.

So … I did tell you I wouldn’t be able to stay away from you all today … and I actually didn’t get any scrapping done!!! My dear SU! friend Leonie (Pepps) was coming to spend the day … to help me … but she rang this morning to let me know that her dh Ronnie had had a heart attack! Oh my! So … of course … she couldn’t come. Ronnie is doing ok now … so Leonie is very thankful. Anyway … I have spent some time getting BETTER organised for stamp club tonight … doing some orders … and catching up on some bookwork! (Aren’t I a good girl!)
