Hello again!

Well … I have managed to prepare a couple of posts scheduled to appear while I am away! I definitely won’t have one every day … but I am working on getting a few done! I will be back online on Mon 12th July! I do hope you will pop back and say hi! Here is the last of our STAMPnGIGGLE projects from last Saturday’s class …

This was a little trickier … because the semi-circle flaps had to be hand cut … and this meant they weren’t quite precise. I was able to cut the DSP on my wonderful Circle Scissors Plus … and had them ready for my guests to add to their cards.  Here it is with the flaps open …

and … with the centre folded up …

I know you won’t have forgotten … but the inspiration for these projects did come from Marianne … and … as with the other 2 samples … I have tweaked the pattern to fit an A4 sheet of cardstock … (Marianne’s cards are a bigger size than mine!)

Click on the pattern to view PDF file that can be printed directly onto cardstock … and then use this as a template to draw around for your card. The felt flower was actually a “rose red’ flower … and I coloured it with my Elegant Eggplant marker! The combination of the two colours … ended up very close to the Rich Razzleberry!

I’m on holidays!

Hello!!! I am waving from our beach cottage at Dolphin Point! I hope you are waving back!!! I am away on a family holiday from Sat 26th June to Sun 12th July … and won’t have ANY internet access! (How will I survive???) But … don’t despair! I have found some time to do a FEW ‘scheduled posts’ for the two weeks I am away. They won’t pop up every day … but every 2 – 3 days! I do hope you remember me … and pop by from time to time to keep up! I look forward to seeing you back here again in mid-July! Happy holidays, everyone! Hi everyone!

I was doing a bit of blog hopping recently and noticed that one of my blog friends had just done a KWerner Colour Challenge! Now … I used to visit Kristina’s blog quite regularly to do her colour challenges … until she decided to have a break. I had checked back several times to see if she was back … and finally gave up! But … Kristina is back & so are her colour challenges!  This is not the current challenge … but I was quite taken by this combination .. and thought I would give it a try!  (Click on the pic to view all the samples for this challenge!) I also used a FAB layout from the Taylored Expressions Sketch Book (#46).  You will find the link for the whole sketch book in the sidebar on this web page! Here is what I came up with …

 

So … a little different from my “usual style” (whatever that actually is!!! ) But … it is kinda sweet … don’t you think? The bow is the “no tie brad bow” that I showed you recently on my scallop circle card. This idea was also inspired by a card on SCS by “Freshayer_2″. Hello my friends!

I am suddenly aware of how little time I have before we leave for holidays on Saturday. YES!!! I don’t think I told you … but we decided just 10 days ago … that we needed to get away again for a break … and have booked 2 weeks at the same holiday cottage that we rented in January! I reminded Gav recently … that when we had the pharmacy … we used to have 2 weeks holiday every 6 months … and how we said it was really important for the family to do this. The last few years … we seem to have lost that somewhere … and now we are trying to get back into the routine of doing this again! It is important to have a routine like this … or holidays get lost amongst the busy-ness of life. I want Sandy to have the same as the other kids … memories of fun times away as a family. And … hey … in a couple of years … our older kids won’t be able to share these times with us … so I want to make the most of the time now!!! So … we are leaving on Saturday … after Sandy’s soccer match. (Let’s get our priorities right!!! ) His team is playing the only other “undefeated” team in the comp … and their first round match was a draw!!! So … it is going to be an exciting game. The team are not keen for their main striker to be away on hols for this important game! I don’t know if I can go and watch??? (It might be a little stressful!!!)

I had to stop and make a sympathy / thinking of you card for a friend today … Do you like this one … ???

 

I was really keen to use one of my brand new Bible Verse stamps that I had purchased recently from “Our Daily Bread Designs”. I really needed some nice verses … and went searching for some online. I got a collection pack of 6 verses … and they will fill a small “void” in my stamp collection! There have been several times I have wanted to use a Bible Verse as a focus on a card … and just haven’t had the right stamp. I am thrilled with my new ones! Yes … SU! are still THE BEST … but … as I have said before … they just can’t supply EVERYTHING!!! I thought I would use some of the glimmermist (over main top note) & shimmerz (around edge of the “top note” & on the smaller flower petals) again on this card … and hopefully you can see them in this photo? It was taken with the sunshine coming through the kitchen window … so I hope the pic does it justice … because it is really pretty!

So … we are off to Dolphin Point … just south of Ulladulla for 14 days of rest & relaxation. I heard the temp was going to be 14°C for about 5 days of the first week. So … I think we will light the fire … and spend lots of time playing board games / cards … watching movies … reading books … and … if I get myself organised I might get to do a little stamping??? (If I get the time to pack up some supplies!) It will be a good chance for Gav to give his back another couple of weeks rest, too! You will remember that last time we went to DP … I didn’t have any internet access! So … I am not going to be able to get regular posts done for you! In fact … unless I can stretch 40 hours (before we leave) into about 50 … then I am not expecting that I will even get to do any scheduled posts for you either!!! I still have to cut my card packs for Stamp Club tomorrow night! I do hope when I return … you will all still be here!!!

Well … I had better stop procrastinating … I still have to make Skye’s 18th birthday card. She turns 18 while we are away … and it wouldn’t be good to forget the card! I also have another “Thinking of You” card … that I  need. Perhaps it won’t be quite so intricate as this one!? Hope you are having a lovely day! Stampin’ Hugs xxx

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #28

Hello everyone!

I have been trying to get to this challenge for a few days … I saw Kez’s sample … and just knew I had to try this colour combo. But … I thought it wasn’t going to happen … until I had to quickly sit yesterday morning and make a card for my nephew’s birthday! I had the stamp pads already sitting on my desk … so I just grabbed them to create this …

Here is Keesh’s colour challenge pic … make sure you click on this to view all the lovely samples for this challenge. I have been wanting to do a Keesh challenge for MONTHS!!! I just don’t know why my life is so busy. Actually I do … but I just don’t know why I can’t manage to stamp more!!!!!!!

And … I don’t always show you the inside of my cards … usually because I am in such a hurry to upload … and I often go back and do the inside (& envelope) later … but … this time I managed to get a pic! Simple … but … hey … it IS for a teenage boy!

Off to Gloria Jeans this morning with Ness, Bridget, Leonie & ??? We are having a team coffee “hit”. Will be fun and giggles for sure!!! STAMPnGIGGLE Project #2

Hello everyone!

I am running really late … and the newsletter is not even nearly done … so I hope you don’t mind if I skip the usual chatter! This is the 2nd project that we made on Saturday … and here it is with the front flaps open …

I  need again, to acknowledge the gorgeous inspiration from Marianne … and here is my altered template. (Adjusted from Marianne’s original to fit an AUS A4 sheet of cardstock.) Don’t forget … you can click on this pic to view a PDF template that can be printed!

And … my card recipe has all the details … minus the added embellishments & accents … as this was meant to be a FREE STAMPING class. Funny thing is … my lovely class members … all wanted to copy the details that I had added!!!!!!! That is such a compliment … thanks everyone!

Retiring Colours!

Colour Renovation - Fond Farewell

Hello again!

You will all by now have seen the news that SU! is in the process of doing a complete Colour Renovation … creating new collections and retiring some old favourite colours! Our Head Office has recently informed us that some of the retiring colours are getting close to “SOLD OUT” levels … and will not be available once these supplies have disappeared. So … I wanted to make sure that all my customers don’t miss out on stocking up on their favourite colours before they are GONE FOREVER!!! Here is the list of the retiring colours …

If you would like to purchase cardstock / stamp pads / re-inkers for any of these colours … DON’T DELAY … or you might MISS OUT!!! Email me now with your order!

ALSO … I will be offering some “bundles” for these retiring colours … once they are officially “retired” on Sept 1. The bundles will consist of my “pre-loved” Stamp Pad / Reinker / Cardstock / Coordinating DSP sheets. These will sell for $10 – $15 depending on the amount of card/paper that I have available for each particular colour. I will be packing these up ASAP … ready for the bundle sale!
