Melbourne Anniversary

Hi girls!

I am sorry … I truly wanted to get here today … but just didn’t get the time. I still haven’t packed for our trip and it is nearly 10pm!!! And … as I expected … no time to prepare any “scheduled posts” … so you won’t see me until Monday! It has been pouring rain all day here today … but mum had a FAB time with some surprise friends at our lunch date. I was just checking out the weather forecast for Melbourne for the next 4 days … not too impressive!!!!

• Jul 28 Thu – Rain – 9°C/14°C – 60% chance of rain – 5-10mm
• Jul 29 Fri – Possible shower – 10°C/15°C – 80% chance of rain – 5-10mm
• Jul 30 Sat – Windy with showers – 10°C/15°C – 90% chance of rain – 5-10mm
• Jul 31 Sun – Windy with showers -8°C/12°C – 80% chance of rain – 10-20mm

I’m not fond of the COLD … but … I know that Gav feels bad that we didn’t get to Melbourne in May (our actual anniversary) … so somehow … I have to make sure I don’t whine about the cold … and make him feel worse! We are going shopping … and out to dinner … movies … and did I mention shopping??? Not that any of the trendy Melbourne shops will have anything “super sized” that will fit me!!! Oh … and Debbie … it did cross my mind to ask for some time to visit with a special blog friend … but somehow I don’t think that is on Gav’s agenda!!! One day ………. ????

Anyway … big apologies that I will be MIA for the next four days … but I just know that I am going to be having a great time!!! C U all on Monday! Hugs xxaxx

Hi girls!

I know … I am really late with my post today … just couldn’t get here earlier! It has been a busy day! I would love to get some extra posts up my sleeve … cos Thursday we are off to Melbourne!!! Yes … our May Anniversary trip is finally here … after having to be rebooked because of Gav’s back injury! So … I am hoping to do a couple of scheduled posts … but please don’t hold your breath. I will be back on Monday if you don’t see me before then! (Please come back and visit!) Was having a quick look at Rachel’s blog today … and noticed the latest JAI challenge card that she had done! Oooh! What a great sketch! I had a “belated birthday” card to make … so … this became my inspiration!

You know what … I am almost tempted to leave this until tomorrow morning! I can’t believe how slow my internet becomes at night … particularly when Gav is checking shares!!! I get soooooo impatient for photos to upload! But … I know tomorrow is going to be flat out … so I just have to persevere! I can hear Lynda now!!! “Noooooo … too much pink!!!” But … I wanted something nice and bright! Sorry, Lynda! My plan was to do this in blue … but I had just done 2 other blue cards (will show you them later) … so PINK it was!!! LOL! Anyway, I am not going to rabbit on any more … because this internet is driving me insane!

I hope to see you again tomorrow. It is my mum’s birthday … so I am going to take her out for lunch with Sheree & a couple of her friends! Have a good night sleep … Stampin’ Hugs xxaxx

Hi there!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! My weekend flew by … but it was lovely. Spent over 2 hours on the phone to Pepps (Leonie N) on Saturday afternoon (yes … you read that right … 2 hours!) I was telling Sonia about my afternoon in a response to her lovely comment … Andrea adds: Oh dear! The paper cleansing DID NOT HAPPEN! I spent 2 hours on the phone to Leonie (N) (Pepps)!!!!! She is such a ‘blether’!!! (That’s a Scottish word for “chatterbox”). I guess I can’t really give her all the blame! It was like we were having a play day … we had coffee/tea together … sat at our computers and blog hopped together … and ooohed and aaahed together … and we solved the problem of “world peace”!!!!! It was a nice way to spend a cold Saturday afternoon … while the rest of the family was out at soccer! Unfortunately … I still have that job to do … so … maybe tomorrow!??? Hugs xxaxx  We also went up to Bathurst yesterday … (Gav was helping out a tiny sister church … preaching while their pastor was away). It was 6 degrees when we arrived … took 3 1/4 hrs to get there … but over 4 hours to get home … TRAFFIC in the Blue Mountains on a Sunday afternoon is horrendous!!! And … we had heavy rain … fog … lightning & thunder. Made for an interesting trip home! But … we did arrive safely … and as Skye said … it was nice just sitting, relaxing in the car … much better than study! (She is gearing up for her trial HSC exams at the moment!) Hey! Did you see the beautiful comment that Denise left for me … on Skye’s B’day invitation post??? What a hunny … and VERY perceptive!!! Anyway … now I am being the “blether” … so I had better show you something creative!!!

Stamp Club on Friday night was a little quieter … with only 3 of my 6 girls able to make it! I do hope all the other girls are feeling better! The class was quite speedy … even allowing for us all making 2 samples of each card … so we could share them with the girls that missed out! So … I quickly got the supplies together for a bonus card that I had created last week!  This wasn’t specifically a technique card as we usually do for Stamp Club … but it was a sweet bonus! My inspiration for this card … was from the gorgeous Tiffany! I soooooooo hope we are going to get some new embossing folders in the new catty! This one that Tiffany used is sensational! But … I think the Manhattan Flowers folder worked quite well as a substitute!

Then … on Saturday … I popped over to say hi to Silke on her gorgeous blog … and found her latest Clean & Simple card. I knew that my (2nd) half finished sample of this card (above) … would translate well into this GREAT SKETCH … and so I stopped straight away and finished the sample off. (Thanks for the inspiration, Silke!) So … this is my entry for the CAS #100! There is a blog hop happening for this sketch … so click on the sketch pic to find the links!

Sorry … no recipe for this sketch card … but I have included one for the original design card. You can see that I also added some “shimmerz” paint to the embossing on this card … just to “lift” it a little. The colours on this 2nd card are Lavendar Lace & Apricot Appeal. 18th Birthday Invitations!

Hello Again, Retro Remix wheel stamp

Hi there!

These invitations were whipped up in about an hour or so! (12 in all) My kids have all opted to have a smallish 18th & a big 21st … so Skye is having a PJ Pamper Party for her 18th birthday! That means … DVDs … facials … foot spas … hand manicures … lots of yummy desserts, chocolate & delicious coffees … plenty of giggles & fun! An old fashioned girls night in! (No boys allowed!) Isn’t she gorgeous!

Don’t you just love these two colours together! Summer Sun & Melon Mambo … just the happiest and sunniest colours … and they happen to be Skye’s favourites! She has her bedroom done in these colours (beach style) … with lots of frangipanis! And … the “Hello Again” stamp set (and “Retro Remix” wheel)  just seemed to be the right kind of happiness to add to the card!

I printed the details onto WW card … and cut them up to fit the invitation. The flowers & Rhinestones are non SU! but everything else is! Skye was happy with them. The girls & I are going shopping this morning … it is my mum’s birthday next Wednesday … so I won’t get to see Sandy’s game this morning!  And … then this afternoon … hopefully … a quiet one! (Finally!) The boys will be off to soccer & the girls usually go and watch. 5 hours of blissful quiet (the boys play 2 games – 2 divisions!) Perhaps … I will end up sorting my cardstock … I have been wanting to do that for AGES!!! Out with the old … make room for the new!!! C YA! Stampin’ Hugs xxx

Curtain Call Challenge ACT39

Hello again!

I managed to do another challenge card … a couple of days ago … and thought I better post it … before the deadline passes! (I have a habit of missing the deadlines! ) This is a colour challenge from Stacey’s Stamping Stage and I instantly LOVED this colour combo. (Probably because green is my favourite colour … go figure!)

This was also for a special friend’s birthday! I hope I haven’t spoilt the surprise! (again!) The medallion is actually a combination of the Certainly Celery & the Wild Wasabi ink. I inked up the rubber with Certainly Celery and very lightly stamped this off onto scrap paper … leaving a little ink on the stamp. Then I added some Wild Wasabi randomly over the stamp using a sponge! Isn’t it a lovely effect! The “Fresh Cuts” leaves were also a combination of the two greens … and a combination of “stamped off” & direct to card stamping to give different depths of colour! Pity the pic doesn’t show the contrast a little better. I have another “to do” list for today … so better get moving! Stamp club tonight … we are doing two techniques … “Kissing” & “3D Stamping”! STAMPnGIGGLE – Baby Romper

Hi again!

Here is the third project that we completed last Saturday … it was a cute baby romper! Sandi gave me the inspiration for this card (again) … but I did turn the design into a card rather than doing it as a card front like Sandi’s!

This is SUPER quick and easy … you just need a 1 1/4″ circle punch & a scallop circle punch … and a hole punch … a little bit of DSP, tiny piece of ribbon and a couple of stamps! You can whip this one up in 10 mins, tops!!! And … using different DSP … the ideas are endless! Still busy cleaning up my blog! And … packs to cut for tomorrow night … and I MUST DO SOME BLOG HOPPING! I love visiting my favourite blogs to get ideas … and am so far behind … busy busy busy!!! Off to do something with my mum today! Hhhmmm … any suggestions for what we could do (that doesn’t involve too much walking)??? Stampin’ Hugs xxaxx
