Hello bloggies!
I have decided I need to do more blogging! It is good therapy for me as the days pass … and my dad still hangs in by a thread. Each morning I take my mum to the hospital … and sometimes … depending on who we have to see … I don’t get home until 3ish. But … I feel like as long as I can sit and chat with my friends here for just a little while … I can continue to smile a little!
I also like to listen to sermons online … because this is a comfort and encouragement also. I know that might sound kinda “pious” to some … but truly … I do find it brings peace and strength at times when I start to wilt a little. Dad has been moved to a 4 bed ward today. Mum was not a happy camper … but truly … it is just a case of over crowding in a hospital that needs MORE BEDS & MORE NURSES!!! The NUM has assured us that they will find a private room again as soon as they can. They know it is not appropriate for Dad (or mum … for that matter) to be in a busy ward … during his last days. Anyway … I found another card to share with you all today …
This was another card from the last session of INK4U! I am a little sad that I have missed much of the fun over at the summer session that is running now … and must try and pop by to download all the wonderful tutorials before they close this session. (Still time to register if you would like to have access to all the projects & challenges!) This was a Colour Challenge … a little outside my comfort zone … but I was pleased with the result! I do love this Sale-a-bration set “Bliss”! A little silver embossing always gives an elegant touch to a card, too!
Well … I am off to sit in my snuggly bed … (the weather has been atrocious here over the last two days) … and I am going to try and finish the power point for Gav’s camp talk. Then … if I have a little time … I might even treat myself to some blog hopping. I am having withdrawals from not visiting with my friends! I hope to see YOU soon!

Woo hoo….subscription works…this landed in my inbox wih ease!!! Bliss certainly was the set of choice last round hey?? I al still amazed at how given the same colours results can vary so much…it’s a wonderful thing.
Missing you at Ink4U. Altho…do not feel bad…I have not put up one card yet….and the guilt is overwhelming!!!
Good to see you are trying an alternate therapy. Good job. ooxx
Andrea adds: LOL … I can imagine your feelings of guilt! Get off your butt honey!!! (Just kiddin’) That’s the great thing about INK4U! … you can participate as much or as little as you like. And … you are always such a great “commenter”! Hugs xxaxx
Hi Andrea,
As we say in NZ “Kia Kaha”, meaning be strong and stay strong.
If listening to online sermons gets you through then so be it, listen till your hearts content.
All of my thoughts and prayers are with you, your mum and your family, and for the peace and comfort of your dad in his final days here before he returns home
Andrea adds: LOL … must try to remember “Kia Kaha”! Thanks for that! And … thanks so much for the sweet messages you sent in your absolutely stunning card. (I need to get my camera … so I can share it with everyone!) I was so touched! All the wonderful messages are keeping me going! Hugs xxaxx
How frustrating for you all to have your dad moved! I hope they can get him back in a private room as soon as possible.
Your card is gorgeous! I wouldn’t have thought to use these colours together but I really like them. Love all the little details – the embossing, torn paper and bling. Lovely. Big hugs to you!
Andrea adds: Hey Jen! Noticed your blog URL here … must pop by asap to say hi! Thanks for your encouragement & hugs! Hugsxxaxx
Hi Andrea,
Thinking of you all in these difficult days. If you can, try to get to read the end of pilgrims progress and PP part 2. It is so lovely to think about what it is like for a believer to “cross over the river, and enter heaven” . I loved both accounts. It made it more real for me and I hope it is a comfort for you and your mum.
love cathy
Andrea adds: Thanks Cathy! Wow! I link my blog to facebook … and suddenly have some old friends discover me!!! Thanks for taking the time to encourage me … and for sharing these suggestions. Mum has a great sermon series on PP … I am hoping to download and listen to them! Hugs xxaxx
I hope you know that every one of us reading your words and, even when you haven’t found time to write your words, we each are keeping you in thoughts and prayers.
Andrea adds: Hi Kim! That is such a wonderful encouraging thought! Thanks for being here! I hope to return the favour asap! Hugs xxaxx
Hi Andrea, well there is nothing like blog hopping as a theraputic tool! So go girl and “theraputise ” (made up word!!!) away to your hearts content. Prayers and hugs for you all. Cheers Donna Zammit
But … perhaps this afternoon … after the hospital??? (The talk is now finished … thankfully! … Gav is just working on the finishing touches.) Thanks so much for the girlfriend support! Hugs xxaxx
Andrea adds: Love that new word!!! Sadly … I didn’t get to “theraputise” at all! Gav’s talk took a little longer to prepare the powerpoint for … and then I just felt too tired!
Thinking of you and your family.
Andrea adds: Thanks Lisa! Hope you’re having fun over at INK4U! Hugs xxaxx
Interesting “twist” to the ribbon – thanks for sharing.
Hugs xxaxx
Andrea adds: Hi Sandy! Thanks for taking the time to say hi! It is lovely to see you. Easy ribbon effect … it is just knotted!
Andrea my heart goes to all of you right now and we all know things dont always go with our plans or thinking on what is right and the overcrowding is a big issue and i hope he can be settled in a private room and soon – who knows maybe its you being a witness to someone else in that ward is the reason why he’s there for a bit. If you run out of sermons let me know and i’ll send you the link to my brother’s church’s site as he’s a pastor in brissie. My prayers are with you all and if there is anything else i can do for you please dont hesitate to ask. I feel its soon going to be my mum’s time too and so hard to be so far away and i know your mum appreciates you being there with her everyday.
with love & prayers
xx
Andrea adds: Hi Leonie! Thanks for all the lovely encouragement … and reminder that God has a purpose in everything that He does. It is a help to know that so many are thinking of me! Hugs xxaxx
Hi Andrea,
Another great card – lots to look at, and great colours. ‘Bliss’ is such a great set!
Hope you are coping with everything at the moment & praying that you have the energy to keep up with it all.
Love & Prayers,
♥ Gabbi ♥
Andrea adds: Thanks Gabbi! I am amazed how God enables us to keep going while we have to … with His strength. Thanks for your continued prayers! Hugs xxaxx
