I have been trying to get a post up this morning … but my internet is mucking up … and I can’t seem to get photos to load. I will keep working on it … and hopefully it will be here soon! I wanted to let you know too … that Facebook has removed the FAKE Andrea … so hopefully that prob is now all sorted. And … MOST ANNOYINGLY … we have run out of internet downloads 5 days before our month ends so we are making do with Shane’s prepaid card! (Very limited!) So … I am sorry … I would like to be sharing something creative … but just can’t get it working at the moment. Still lots of work to do … so I may as well go and be productive somewhere else! Facebook Account Hacked!

I just thought I would let you know that my Facebook account has been hacked by someone claiming to know a solicitor who can get YOU $70,000. This solicitor is apparently a friend of Barak Obama!!!!! Anyway … this FAKE account looks identical to my real account … but as yet only has about 20 friends. I have just changed my profile pic to one with Gav, me & Bree – I am wearing a green cardigan. The FAKE account at the moment still has the photo of me with Bree when she was born. They have been sending ‘friend requests’ … and some of you have said yes! Please can you check if you have 2 x “Andrea Lowcock” friends … and REPORT THE FAKE to Facebook. This will be the one with the least no. of friends. (I think around 20 at present! I – the REAL Andrea – have 199 at the moment.) Then after reporting them … please DELETE them from your friend list. I haven’t been able to access my account for several days … but finally was able to get in this morning. This FAKE Andrea has also tried “chatting” with a few of my friends.

I have done all the “change your password” & “secure your account” stuff … but the FAKE one is still there! Does anyone know how to get rid of this FRAUD??? I wish Facebook had a help desk … with a REAL PERSON able to help step you through the process of fixing this! I have gone around and around in circles trying to secure my account! And … although now I can get access … the FAKE one is still there! Sigh … what a waste of time!!! I could have been stamping!!!

I guess it is more applicable to the US for Thanksgiving … but … hey … the ideas you could do with this!!! I am imagining a FAT SANTA!!!

Claire Daly, Extreme Elements, Perfect Punches

It has been a busy few days … and I haven’t found time to stamp … except for an hour or so last night to create a fabulous gift card holder for my nephew’s birthday. I found this great idea from Claire Daly’s wonderful blog! Claire had created a female version … and I tweaked it to become a male one!

Can you see the pretty gold glimmer brads??? I am quite taken with these new goodies in the latest catty. My wish list is so HUGE … but my spending is quite limited at the moment … so I went for the ‘basics’ that I hope will team with most colours.

I was in a hurry to get this done and in the mail … but when I finished … it was past the mail collection time. Darn it! I can only hope it will now arrive in time … if I get it in the mail today! I thought I would quickly share this great project with you before I put my head down and get to work. Claire actually has a downloadable FREE PDF tutorial if you are interested in making one for yourself.

I have been very busy doing my new job … catching up on a back log of patient files … and also trying to allow a little time for the family … because it is school holidays here! I am quite enjoying the work bit … but it is kinda time consuming! Anyway … a quick card before I go to bed! This was another of the fab colour challenges over at INKspirations 4U!

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp set. You know … it really didn’t catch my eye to begin with … and it wasn’t until months after it appeared in the catty that I decided I needed a line image stamp set. So … I chose this one … and now I wonder what I did without it! You can NEVER have too many stamp sets!!

Oh … yes … you noticed correctly … my “NO TIE BRAD BOW!” I haven’t done one in a little while … so here is a reminder of how to create this cute accent. Click pic to enlarge!

Always Elegant, CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, Curly Cute

Hello bloggies!

I did enjoy having a short time to stamp on a rainy, cool Saturday … and ended up with 3 cards to show for it! I was planning to share a super card using the BRAND NEW “Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch” that Jenny & I played with on our stamping day recently … but that will have to wait a little longer … because today’s card is for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge … so I had better get that posted first!

Challenge details: CFC21 – Create a Clean And Simple project using at least 3 shades of a monochromatic color (your choice) PLUS Brown.

Aren’t the punched flowers just the sweetest! I have to practice a little to combine the different shapes that this punch creates … but no time for that today. So … the challenge asked for ‘at least’ 3 shades of a colour … and I managed 4!!!! From left to right … Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party & (ret.) Soft Sky. The tiny flower centres are created using a retired SU! punch “Trio Flower Punch”. Some punches you just don’t want to part with!  I even managed to get each of the four colours in ink onto the stamped panel. And … I do love gathering that double stitched ribbon. It gathers soooo well! Anyway … gotta go … and do some “paid” work! See you all again soon. Hugs xx

PS: What do you think about my new blog look. They say that moving the furniture around at home is a sign of a ‘bored housewife’ … I did feel like a change … it has been over a year since I redid it … but the jury is still out about the design. I was looking for something a little more ‘funky’ … but perhaps I should have left it til I wasn’t so rushed?! I do think the layout looks much cleaner & brighter. It has taken me all night last night to put it together … so I won’t be changing it again too soon!!!

I was working on this card today … and suddenly realised that the deadline for the challenge was TODAY!!! So … I decided to give you all a bonus post … and get this online and try and meet the deadline! (2hrs 31mins to go!!!) Now … the Paper Players #64 challenge is for a CLEAN & SIMPLE CARD using an animal or plant! I must say … CAS cards do confuse me a little. Sometimes you look at a CAS challenge and even the DT cards are quite detailed with several layers & lots of ribbons & embellishments. Other CAS challenges ask for lots of “white space” (which doesn’t necessarily mean “white” … it just means lots of “open space”). So … I am always at a loss to know how much detail to add. It is hard to know exactly what “CAS” means for each challenge. Well … I guess it is just important to HAVE FUN … and enjoy your stamping … and don’t stress about it all. So … that is what I did!

It’s a funny place to start … but I created this card AROUND this brand new “Champagne Glass Stampin’ Glitter” that arrived in my order this week. I sooo wanted to play with it … but was mindful that this was supposed to be a CAS challenge … so I didn’t want to overdo it! This is such a pretty glitter … and completely different to the chunky sprinkles that I have used before. This is actually tiny glass fragments … and not the even circles of the chunky sprinkles. So … it seems to give a much brighter sparkle! I am imagining this on Chrissy cards … and I think it will be quite gorgeous!

It is the weekend … and it is cool again! Don’t you just hate it when you get that blast of sunny spring weather … and then the chill returns again! Just when you start to get excited that summer is on the way … you have to drag out the hoodies and trackies again!!! Bring on Summer, I say!!! Here I was wanting to go down to the beach last night for a BBQ tea … and today it is “stay at home” weather again! Anyway … good weather for stamping … so perhaps … if the family allow me … I might just do some!!! (Haven’t touched my stamps since last Saturday!) Here is another of my INKSpiration challenges for INK4U!

I hope you can see the pretty shimmer spray that I have added to this card??? It is quite elegant and sparkly! Sorry … the photo is a little dark. The heart in the centre is popped up on some dimensionals. And … I just love this seam binding that is new in the  catalogue. I have all the colours on my wish list … but this is a little Cherry Cobbler seam binding that my friend Fi gave me a while ago. I have been hoarding it like crazy … but now that I know it is available … I can use it to my heart’s content! Well … off to … ???? I’m not really sure … but now that I am a WORKING WOMAN … I am going to appreciate my weekends even more!!! Hope yours is a good one! Hugs xxaxx

Hi bloggies!

I am a busy little beaver … getting organised with setting up systems for helping Gav with his bookwork. I must be OCD … because I even have a FLOW CHART!!! I am quite enjoying feeling a little more “useful” … but it is also nice to be flexible with this new “job”! I hope to still get down to the school today to watch Sandy’s “City VS Country” soccer match. The two campuses of our school have a sports gala day today with netball, soccer & volleyball matches happening — Cordeaux is “City” … and we are “Country” cos our little school is in the middle of dairy country while Cordeaux is close to the Wollongong CBD. It is a fun & exciting challenge cup! Sandy is playing in the junior high boys soccer match. It is a beautiful, sunshiny, spring day … so it will be nice to get out in the fresh air for a while! I also have to take mum to another appt … but it is just some blood tests … so shouldn’t take too long! Today’s card is another of the INK4U! challenges … this time a great colour combo!

I have to give FULL acknowledgement to a great card I saw on Fiona’s blog recently … which immediately went into my ‘to CASE’ file. When I saw this colour combo … I knew it would fit perfectly with Fi’s design. And … doesn’t it look great! Thanks Fi for the inspiration! And … thanks to Diane (INK4U!) for the great colour nudge, too! Yes … I am still too tired from running around with mum … to think for myself!!! And … I imagine for a couple more weeks … while I am getting organised with work … it will probably be the same! But … I hope you are still enjoying what you see! Well … gotta run … c u soon!
