I’m a little rusty!

Hi again!

I am so happy to be posting a card … I managed to get two stamped last night … even though I was SUPPOSED to be cutting packs for my Saturday class!!! Yesterday was one of those days where all my great plans went out the window. (YET AGAIN!) I don’t really know why … a couple of phone calls … a visit from my mum … kids distracting me … and once again … I hardly got anything done! So … before I went to bed … I was determined to create something to show you. But … I’m a little rusty!!! … This is all I could put together late at night! …

I noticed that this LONG TIME favourite stamp set is in the new US catty … so I have my fingers crossed that it won’t be retired from the Aussie catty this year, either!!! This truly is a set that gives so much variety … and even though I haven’t pulled it out in a while … I always love using it!!! I also haven ‘t used my Kaleidoscope papers for a while either … and remembered again how much I love these funky bright colours! Made me feel like Spring was on the way … IF ONLY!!!!

Well … I have procrastinated long enough … I am definitely off to cut those packs now! I will try and get back tomorrow with one of my STAMPnGIGGLE projects! C U soon! Stampin’ hugs xxx

Readers Choice Colour Inspiration #3

Hi everyone!

I was doing a bit of blog hopping recently and noticed that one of my blog friends had just done a KWerner Colour Challenge! Now … I used to visit Kristina’s blog quite regularly to do her colour challenges … until she decided to have a break. I had checked back several times to see if she was back … and finally gave up! But … Kristina is back & so are her colour challenges!  This is not the current challenge … but I was quite taken by this combination .. and thought I would give it a try!  (Click on the pic to view all the samples for this challenge!) I also used a FAB layout from the Taylored Expressions Sketch Book (#46).  You will find the link for the whole sketch book in the sidebar on this web page! Here is what I came up with …

So … a little different from my “usual style” (whatever that actually is!!! ) But … it is kinda sweet … don’t you think? The bow is the “no tie brad bow” that I showed you recently on my scallop circle card. This idea was also inspired by a card on SCS by “Freshayer_2″. Hope you all have a nice day … I really need to cut stamp club packs NOW!!!! (grin) Stampin’ Hugs xx

Butterfly Delight

Hi everyone!

I know you are all dying to see the pansy card … BUT … I did this Colour Q challenge a couple of days ago … and need to get it posted before the deadline! Now … I would NEVER have thought to put these colours together! (What is wrong with me???) But … as soon as I saw this colour combo … I fell in love with it. This is a big surprise to me … because I think in the whole time I have been with SU! I might have used Bravo Burgundy …. hhhhmmmm …. maybe 3 times??? But … this combo was just irresistable. Perhaps it was the cute flower design that caught my eye??

So … this card also features the “floating watercolour” technique (minus embossing) that we used to create the pansies last night. I wanted to try it on a focus piece for this card as a display sample. I think it worked quite nicely as a feature background. Oh … and … sorry about the shadows on the card … I tried photographing outside this time. Still need to work on my photography skills!

This card was also created for the ESAD-SU Wk 10 sketch challenge … but dumb-spud me … only read 1/2 the challenge … and didn’t realise that along with the sketch … there was a specific colour combo, too!!! DUH!!! So … I have learnt my lesson. I don’t know if I will have time to do that challenge now … especially seeing this afternoon is DEFINITELY scrapping day! Off to get started now! Kaleidoscope Fun

Hello girls!

Click pic to visit Swap Sisters

I took a few minutes during my class prep yesterday to do the latest Swap Sister Challenge!!! FINALLY!!! There is just not enough time to play … is there! But … I clicked on this challenge … and immediately HAD to try it! So … here is the Swap Sisters COLOUR challenge (Apr 4) for this week …

Click pic to visit Stamping 411

And … I teamed this challenge with the latest Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge #145 … which was a FAB sketch for the DSP I had in mind! Sometimes a card just “falls into place” quite easily … and the end result is really pleasing!!!  So … here is my card …

And … with those colours … how could I resist another play with my Kaleidoscope DSP. This is the first time that I have used a complete pack of DSP! This was the last (part) sheet that I had left of the whole pack!!! You all know how much I love these papers. But … not to worry … even though they are now “retired” (Summer Mini ’09/’10) … I did manage to order a 2nd pack before they disappeared!!! :D  So … plenty more to play with! :D

I still have a little organisation to do for Friday … and with a shopping trip to Miranda with my girls tomorrow … I really need to get it done! C U soon! (I hope!) :D

OH … AND … I MEANT TO TELL YOU … THE SECOND HALF OF THE AUTUMN/WINTER MINI CATTY BLOG HOP BEGINS TODAY … CLICK HERE TO BEGIN -> Sonia Garbutt. Don’t forget to follow it right around until you get back to Sonia’s blog … leave a comment on every blog … and then email Sharlene at stampwithsharlene@hotmail.com to let her know that you have left a comment on each blog post … and Sharlene will add your name to the draw for the Blog Candy!  And … if you missed the first half of the blog hop … then click here … and you will find my post! Follow the links around to view all the participating blogs. So many FAB ideas for new Catty products! Have fun!

OCC Sketch + JAI #10

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Wasn’t it hot!!! It is so lovely to be having that last burst of summer … before we succumb to the winter cold! (Not that we can complain about our mild winters … here in Shellharbour!) It was quite draining watching Sandy play his first trial soccer match on Saturday afternoon in the heat … and then afterwards, Gav & Shane played in their trial match too!  I don’t know how it happened … but Sandy’s 1st div team was playing against a 2nd div team … and by the end of the match … I just wanted to go and give the opposing team’s goalie a big hug! He was so upset … to let 14 goals in!!! But … truly … it wasn’t an even match and I just felt so sorry for the other team! Next time I think they need to let a FEMALE organise!!! And … somehow there was a mis-communication with Gav & Shane’s team TOO!!! Our 1st div team turned up to play first … but the other team sent their 2nd div to play 1st … which meant that G&S’ team (2nd div) played the 2nd match against the other team’s 1st div! I think they did pretty well to lose 4-0! So … soccer season is upon us!!! Round 1 starts the weekend after Easter. (Sandy keeps reminding me to call it “football” … but since Shane has been playing from 6 years old … I have always called it soccer!!! Do we really have to call it “football” … I am so used to calling rugby league “footy” … very confusing for a NON sporty mum!!!)

Anyway, I didn’t mean to blether on … I did pop by to show you a quick card … and then I have to run and do the newsletter!

This card is based on two current challenges … click on the pics … to view more gorgeous samples for these sketches!

OCC Sketch Challenge for Mar 27 & Just Add Ink Colour Challenge #10

You can see that I have tipped the sketch layout onto it’s side! Just a little “tweaking” of the sketch … and I did add a tiny bit of Certainly Celery to the Colour challenge. I hope that is allowed!!! Only 3 days to take advantage of my 10% off for Summer Mini items!!! Don’t miss out … before they disappear. (Including this gorgeously sweet stamp set!)

Gotta fly … Sandy has “An Outback Evening” at school tonight … poetry reading and aboriginal dance!!! (Can you hear Gav’s groans??? – he hates poetry reading!!!) :D  But … we have to go and put a smile on our face … and clap our 11 yr old … and make him think we are enjoying his performance. I also have to do the soccer run this arvo … Gav isn’t able to … so with soccer & poetry … I won’t have MUCH time at all to get the newsletter done today!!! … So … I am scurrying off now!!! :D

Have a nice day! Stampin’ Hugs xxx
