Rock & Roll Butterfly

Hi everyone! Time for a new technique! I wanted to show you this card that I am demonstrating at Erin’s workshop launch tomorrow. It is such a “wow” technique … but soooooooo easy!

You can see the large butterfly is coloured with two colours. This technique is called “Rock & Roll”.

  1. ALWAYS start with a pale ink … such as the “gable green” I have used for this card. Ink the whole image as normal on the green ink pad … DO NOT stamp yet!!!
  2. then …  to add the second colour (pink passion) — Don’t press the image directly onto the (pink) stamp pad — just roll the edges of the image around on the ink pad just so the outer edge of the image is inked with the second colour — Check your rubber image to see that colour looks ok
  3. STAMP onto card! EASY!!!

For this card I have also cut off about 1 1/2 cm from the edge of the card & stamped the back of the card with a border of ladybugs! I rounded the corners with the Corner Rounder Punch.

Colours used: Pink Passion, Gable Green & Whisper White + some pretty in pink ribbon. (or alt: Tempting Turquoise, Yo Yo Yellow + white ribbon)

Stamp Set: Garden Whimsy

Try this technique with any of your bold image stamps! You will love it!

    Hi Andrea,
As usual, your cards look terrific. I hope you are feeling better now. It is always a must for me to check out your blog each day I am on the internet. Now I will have to try this technique. I have been using the Apple Cider designer papers for my next exploding box. I love the colours in this set.
    Love Julie
Andrea adds: Thanks, Julie! I am finally starting to feel like I am getting on top of things! Today is the first morning I have woken up for 10 days and thought “I think I might be a little better”! No headaches or temps today … just the cough continuing to nag a bit! You are so amazing … another exploding box! I would love to see it when it is finished! And … if I bought all the papers with colours I love together … I would be swimming in papers!!! Have to resist … sometimes! But … that is the problem with SU! They just know how to put colours together and make them sooooo hard to resist!!! 🙂 Lotsa hugs, Andrea
