Mojo Monday #78

Hi girls! I am so pleased with myself! 😉 ! I have completed another challenge … and I AM NOT LATE again!!! 😀 I really am supposed to be doing some prep for my catty launch … but felt a bit stamp starved after my time away … and really just wanted to play for a while!

So … here is this week’s Mojo challenge #78 …

mojo78sketchAnd … here is the link to check out all the gorgeous submissions for this challenge! -> Mojo Monday #78 samples

And … here is my effort!!

mojo-78-001I was quite excited to see that Garden Whimsy was still in the new catalogue. I was certainly not finished with it yet … and sooooo want to be able to use it for a while yet!

I love this BRAND NEW colour combination, too!

Card Recipe:

  • Stamp Sets:
    • Garden Whimsy (SU!)
    • Verve “Be still and Know” Plain Jane
  • Colours:
    • Baja Breeze
    • Pacific Point
    • Kiwi Kiss
    • Spring Break (retiring) DSP
  • Accents:
    • Whisper White Grosgrain ribbon
    • Dazzling Diamonds

So … my first impression of Pacific Point wasn’t great … but now I have started using it … I have realised what a lovely blue it is. So different from any we have had before! And … I have been wanting to use the Verve stamp for ages … and finally got it out and dusted it off! I have 3 of these verses … and really love them! So … you might see a little more of them!

Another challenge for you to try … send me a pic!

  1. oooo I love this!! I love that verse and we forget to ‘be still’ at times i think. I think I need some Verve stamps so let me know if you want to do a ‘shared’ order. I love that paper you’ve used too and do have some that I must use up. I loved this sketch too – till toosdee 😀
Andrea adds: Will be keen to do shared order … talk to you toosdee!!!

Beautiful card Andrea, great to see you using those Verve Stamps. I have this one too and it is one of my favourite scripture verses as I often do need to be reminded to “Be Still”. I would love to know how you managed to get your verse in all those gorgeous colours when I know we don’t have markers in those colours. It looks so lovely. A beautiful card, thanks so much for sharing 🙂
Andrea adds: Hi Lee-Anne … I used my blender pen and picked up the colours from the ink pak. (Press lid of ink pad to create palette of ink in lid) Then you just paint them on like a marker pen. Will email you with this technique … thanks for asking!

Hi Lee-Anne … thanks so much for your kind words … I love this Verve Stamp, too! Just need to use it a little more! (just need to find time!)
If you want to do the multi-colour images with in colours … I find if you create a palette of ink in the lid of your ink pad & pick up the colour with a blender pen … you can paint this straight onto the stamp just like you would with a marker. You may need to add colour a couple of times to get enough depth to the colour … but it does work quite successfully! The darker colours obviously work the best … but you can always add more colour directly to the stamped image with your blender pen if you stamp it and then think it needs a little more!
Have a great week! Stampin’ Hugs, Andrea – EnchantINK
