Finally … some gorgeous Convention Swaps!

Hi everyone!

I finally have a chance to share some of the amazingly beautiful swaps that I received at Canberra Convention! I know I can’t share EVERY ONE … with you … so I will just pick a few favourites!

This first one is just stunning! I have heard of the “shaving cream” technique but have never seen it demo-d or seen a sample. You can see the swirly effect on the “planets” on this card … so … apparently … the way you do this is to put some shaving cream into a tray (old clean meat tray) and drop some ink from a re-inker onto the shaving cream. Then swirl it around with a skewer or toothpick … and press your card onto the cream. Take the card off the cream and press another piece of card onto the cream that is now on your cardstock. Press together & pull apart … then wipe off the shaving cream to leave a design on your card! MMmm … sounds tricky … and messy … but look at the results! Just sensational! This card was created by Kylie Hogan and I just love how she has put this card together! Simple but stunning!

This card is from my great-great-grandma upline, Tracey Eaton. It was so lovely to meet Tracey at Convention … such a happy, enthusiastic, friendly & bubbly person! This is another set that I DON’T HAVE … but now NEED!!! I have seen some beautiful cards created using this set … so now I am coveting again!!! (Have to stop that … it is not good for me!!!) 😀 Oh … and I did buy the loveliest umbrella from “Momento Mall” at Convention that has this design all over it!!! I also love the 3 oval phrase idea … and have already copied that for a recent card! 😀

One more quick one … I love the simplicity of this card … but the colours really caught my eye! (I do love green!!!) This images on this card have been stamped with Versamark & then have had Stampin’ Pastels (chalks) daubed onto the images. With the sparkly Dazzling Diamonds on top this makes for such a pretty effect! This card was created by Jenny Chilton. (No contact details … sorry!)

  1. FUN convention cards!! I love it when you share cards and give us details… 🙂 Enjoy your weekend Andrea and I hope you are warmer than we are… for June we should be in the 70’s for highs… it may hit 53, and the morning we have a frost warning!! LOL… crazy weather! Chat more soon… Michelle 🙂
Andrea adds: LOL Michelle! That sounds rather cold … but we have degrees C … so not quite sure exactly how cold! June is usualy pretty cold for us … but only around 15 or 16. So far we have had around 18 – 20 … but today is freezing! Windy … cold! Thanks for popping by and leaving so much encouragement!
