Hi girls
I thought I would show you something a little different today. For our cyberstamp last weekend … there were two 3D challenges. I only got time to do one of them … but would like to try Leonie’s little bag sometime soon! (on my ‘to do’ list)
This project is called a file folder … and I actually got the measurements wrong … so mine is a mini file folder!!! 😀 (Actually a few of the girls did the same thing … so I don’t feel so dumb!!!) 😀
To do my mini folder (which can be made from a single piece of A4 card) … start with a piece of card 27 x 21 cm … and fold in half … then fold both ends into the centre to create 4 panels. Then fold the bottom up a 1/3 (7cm) to form a pocket along the bottom. (Click on diagram to enlarge – for better detail)
Cut 8 pieces of DSP (I have used the gorgeously yummy Raspberry Tart DSP) 13.5 x 6.3 cm and another 4 pieces 6.3 x 6.3 cm and stick to each of 8 top panels (front & back of card) … and to underside of bottom panels.
Put double sided tape from the bottom edge up to the 7cm fold line on each of the fold lines and on each end. Then fold bottom edge up and stick to form 4 pockets along the bottom.
Cut a strip of DSP or card 17 cm x 6 cm (approx) and create a “belt” to hold the folder closed – wrap around the folder & use double sided tape to hold together.
Decorate as you like … I have used some of the Flower Fusions Felt Flowers (This DSP has the same rose red as the flowers and the old olive flowers are quite a good match to the kiwi kiss of the paper.) I have also used some pink rhinestone brads, a mini bull dog clip from the “Clips Assortment” (a cute set of mini clips from the latest IB&C); and some pretty kiwi kiss satin ribbon. (Plus a few tiny silver pearls – non SU!)
I have turned mine into a little file for my handbag … with pockets for business cards & appt cards, receipts & cash. One of the girls made a lovely photo file … and put a couple of photos in the pockets with a journal entry for one pocket … and another card to write a greeting on. What a lovely idea for a mother’s day or christmas present! And … in this mini size it is perfect to carry around in your bag!!! I wonder what ideas you might come up with???
Still heaps to share … have been busy creating while it was still holidays! And I can’t wait to show you some more from the NEW MINI CATTY! Yes … it has now started!!! I posted some details in my post on Saturday! (Scroll down OR click to see post -> Spring Mini) Please contact me if you would like me to send you a copy of the catty to have a good look. Or … you can find an online copy at the SU! website!
C U soon!
