Hi there!
I know I promised on Thursday that I was going to show you some cards using a new stamp set that I have just received … but I kinda got distracted yesterday showing you some of my Petal Pizzazz cards instead! So … while I am on a roll … I thought I would continue with the Petal Pizzazz theme … and show you a couple of other cards … and then on Monday I will show you the photo pages I did using the same set! I love being able to show the versatility of a set. And … often ideas for one set can be adapted for another … if you don’t have the particular set that I am highlighting!
You will just have to believe me that these two cards are actually much more impressive in real life!!! 😉 The white stamping is much more obvious … but these pics show it up reasonably well. This first one caught my eye while I was browsing through SCS and I just HAD to CASE it. I found the original on this blog -> The Card Kitchen. Thanks for the inspiration. Liza!
Such a simple but gorgeous idea! I think it is really effective! Just remember to stamp the coloured images first and the white over the top!
Card Recipe:
Stamp Sets: Petal Pizzazz, Warm Words
- Inks: Regal Rose, Whisper White
- Cardstock: Regal Rose – A5 (21 x 14.8cm) + 8.5 x 12.8cm + scrap for oval; Whisper White – scrap for oval
- Accents: Pink Rhinestone Brads, Regal Rose Grosgrain ribbon
- Tools Used: Small & Large Oval Punches, Sponge Daubers, Spiral Punch
This card was so quick and easy … and I immediately reached for another colour inspired by Liza’s original. (However … Liza was introducing the new US “Bermuda Bay” in colour & we don’t have that yet … so I substituted it with Tempting Turquoise.)
This time I have added a little more of the white accents with some white card as a narrow frame. And … I have also used some silver brads … pressed a mini glue dot to the head of each one … and dipped the sticky head in Dazzling Diamonds to create some pretty glittery brads! This is a great idea for a little more sparkle … without any more expense!!!
Card Recipe:
Stamp Sets: Petal Pizzazz, Warm Words
- Inks: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
- Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise – A5 (21 x 14.8cm) + 9.5 x 13.8cm; Whisper White – 9.8 x 14.1 cm
- Accents: Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon, Whisper White grosgrain ribbon, Silver Brads + mini glue dot + dazzling diamonds
- Tools used: Spiral punch, Brad punch
So … a new but simple idea … Stamp white image over coloured image on coloured card. Why don’t you try it out??? I’m sure you will be happy with the effect! Just another idea to tuck away for a rainy day!!! I know I am going to try this technique again!!!
I am off to the school working bee today (I actually prepared this post yesterday so I would have something to share with you today!!!) Gav is going to join me at school later … but Sandy’s soccer coach has to work today … so Gav has been called up last minute as back up coach! Fortunately, he has an early game … so Gav shouldn’t miss too much of the working bee! Always something happening!!!
See you on Monday … with my Petal Pizzazz photo pages!

Hi Andrea,
Wow I must have had a busy week… I got on to check your blog and realised I have a whole week’s worth to catch up on!! Usually I am on at least every couple of days to see what you have put on.
I just love these “one colour” cards! I wish I was as artistic as you! I will have to give them a go though. I really need to get myself some more “bling” too. They definitely add a final touch to these cards don’t they.
Looking forward to the 22nd Aug card day!
Andrea adds: Hi sis! Can’t go wrong with monotone! And … yes … bling is always good!!! Looking forward to 22nd Aug, too!!! Hugs xxx PS Hope next week is a little quieter!
