Sandy – Zone Age Champion!!!

What a total surprise it was for Sandy to be told that he was the 11 year boy ZONE AGE CHAMPION at the recent zone athletics carnival on the whole of school assembly yesterday!!! He had no idea … so it was very exciting (especially since he was the only primary student to win age champion!) So … I thought … I would put my “proud mum” hat on and share this achievement with my blog friends!!!

Now … I realise that being part of a small Christian school does narrow the field a bit … but this was at a comp for about a dozen Christian schools from around the south coast area of NSW. So … it still is quite an achievement!!! So … Sandy came 1st in long jump, 1st in shot put, tied 2nd for high jump – but on count back he actually got 3rd, 3rd for 100m, 4th 200m & was part of the winning 100m relay team.

I think what made it so special is that he soooo wasn’t expecting it!!! (This is his first time for age champ at zone!) 😀 😀 So … after that little bit of self-indulgence … I did have something else to show you!!!

You will remember one of the “Sweeties Sketches” cards I did for the August challenge …

One of my blog readers sent me an email last week to let me know that I had helped her “mojo” … and had given her an idea for a card for her 12 yr old niece. I was so tickled to think that someone had actually been inspired by something I had posted … and it was so nice of Lynda to let me know … and then also to follow up today with a pic of her card. So … I just HAD to share it with you all.

Isn’t it amazing how different papers & colours can change the look of a card! I can see some gorgeous “Afternoon Tea” DSP and Lynda has used the colours from this DSP to stamp the images: Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, So Saffron. I’m pretty sure I can see a bit of sparkle there … and I think the background card is Elegant Eggplant??? This is so pretty and funky!!! Well done Lynda! And thanks so much for sharing!!! I absolutely love to see my blog readers creations … so feel free to send a pic via email anytime … and I will try and get it onto my blog!
