Hi everyone!
I have finally found time to do the BRAND NEW Bizzy Becs Creatacilious Challenges FIRST CHALLENGE!!! But … to be honest … I’m not sure that I like it all that much??? Here is the challenge …
Well it is Fathers Day next month in Australia so we want you to make something for dad, it can be anything and it does not have to be specifically for Father’s Day…….you just need to include the colour brown and some metal on your creation.
You can click on the button to link back to the Bizzy Becs blog … where you will find some lovely ideas and inspiration for this challenge.
So … I actually thought … FAB … I can get one of my Father’s Day cards done … in advance! That is always a good thing!!! And … I had a brand new male stamp set from the New Spring Mini Catty … so you would think it would all come together nicely??? But … no … sometimes the MOJO just isn’t flowing … but … I thought I would be brave and show you anyway!!! 😀
You can see I have the 3 requirements … something for Dad … something brown … something metal! 😀 I am keen to try the sample in the mini catalogue using this set. But … I need to order the BRAND NEW WHITE STAZON … before I can do that one … so this was my first attempt with this set. I REALLY like the set … but I think it will have to settle in a bit … before I really get comfortable and get some inspiration on different ways to use it! Here are the card details …
Card Recipe:
Stamp Sets: Unchartered Terriroty, All Year Cheer II
- Inks: Basic Brown stamp pad; Markers: Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue
- Cardstock & Papers:
- Whisper White – A5 (14.8 x 21 cm) + scrap for phrase
- Creamy Caramel – 3.5 x 10.5 cm + scrap for corner
- Bashful Blue – 14.8 x 2 cm + scrap for corner
- Whisper White – A5 (14.8 x 21 cm) + scrap for phrase
- Accents: SU! Twine, Hodgepodge Hardware frame/brads/clip
- Tools: Corner Punch, 2mm handheld circle punch
- Extra Details:
- DAD – I used the “D & A” from the Happy Father’s Day stamp … and inked the DA … then the D with markers to create the word “DAD” – using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up straight
- The waves on the Bashful Blue strip were done using markers direct to stamp to just ink the waves. Then I laid the BB card against the main image on the white card … so I could line up the waves directly beneath the cliffs and the boat. (Does that make sense??? 😉
- The images were coloured in with markers … using the paler colours to fill in the image and the darker colours for accents & hightllights.
- I think you can kinda see in the zoomed pic that I have used double dimensionals to attach the two strips of coloured card. I wanted to lift them right off the main image … and it worked quite well. (Double dimensionals – a dimensional stuck on a dimensional to give double the height!)
I hope you give the BRAND NEW Bizzy Becs Challenges a try. Send me a pic if you would like to share your creation! Oh … and thanks everyone for your comments over the last two days! Wow! I was so touched to see so many when I logged on tonight! I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE getting comments and feedback. I have had such a busy week with hardly any time for blogging … so I am just about to check all those lovely comments and attach a response to each! Thanks again for all your encouragement and support!! The boys had a VERY WET day at the snow today!!! 😦 81mm rain!!! So … they only lasted a few hours before heading back to the lodge to dry off, play cards & chill out!!! Hopefully tomorrow will be a magic day for them all??? Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
