Hi everyone!
Sorry I missed you all yesterday! I really don’t know where the day went!? But … I guess you all know what it is like at this time of the year. And … then today … I did get started on this post … but had to pop up to my sis-in-law’s to help her with packing up for her move … so the day has disappeared once again! We had our school Christmas Celebration on last night … and I just wanted to share a couple of family snaps first! This 1st one is Skye singing (& playing piano) “What Faith Can Do” (Kutless) accompanied by Ryan & Sandy.
The conditions were a little difficult for the performers … it was quite windy … Skye’s music was being blown around … but she continued on as if nothing was happening … and was very thankful for Brendan’s (a friend’s son & one of the stage hands) quick thinking … with the masking tape! And … he did it so unobtrusively! Sandy made his “debut” appearance as a drummer and Ryan (their cousin) did a FAB job on guitar!
Then Sandy was also in a couple of items … one with his prep “buddies” (the littlest in the school) … and a stomp performance with his Year 5 class. It was all very entertaining … but a little frustrating being outdoors … and being windy. It was a bit hard to hear. We always have a lovely community evening … out under the trees on picnic blankets & chairs … munching on sausage sizzles … catchin up with friends we may not have seen for a while & watching the kids perform.
Anyway … I had better share some stamping … I am still plodding through my “I Wish” Simply Scrappin’ Kit (Christmas Scrapbook kit from SU!) … and it is like a bottomless well of supplies. I have already done 5 gift bags, 3 gift card holders, about 30 gift tags … and … I still have a heap of bits and pieces from this kit to use for more Chrissy Cards! Here are some of the Chrissy tags … and as you can see … some of them are not even stamped at all. Makes for Q&E!!! Gotta love that at this time of the year!
So … I used my old favourite Christmas Gift Tag set called “Tags for All” for these two gift tags. This set was available in the Summer Mini 2008 … and I tell you … some of the best stamp sets only run for a limited time in the mini cattys. If you do see something you like … best to get it while the mini is out … because it may not make it into the next IB&C … and then you have lost your chance. This is a set I won’t be parting with … and will probably drag it out every year … it makes such a variety of different tags!!!
This tag was a simple “markers straight to rubber” image and with a little punching & embellishing … it was so quick and easy. I think the colours in this DSP are such an elegant combination for Christmas. The traditional red & green … but the chocolate makes it that little more special.
And … my second tag was just some quick embossing with a mix of dazzling diamonds & silver embossing powder. (You can’t quite see the sparkle in the pics … but it does look pretty IRL!) 😀 The sticker strip & lovely white textured cardstock is from the “I Wish” pack.
And … then I ran out of tags … and had to make some more! So … here is the 3rd sample … also created with stickers, DSP & cardstock from the “I Wish” pack … no stamping on these … took me hardly any time at all!
So … I didn’t do any card recipes for any of these tags. I’m sorry … but they are kinda thrown together … and pretty self explanatory. (I hope!) I am just hoping that they will give you some inspiration to make your own gift tags this Christmas. Sheree (daughter no. 2) did comment to me when she was wrapping some pressies for me … that hand made gift tags definitely were nicer! (And she is not a stamper!!!) 😉 So … I think it really is worth taking a little bit of time (and believe me … this was just a little bit of time) to make your own.
I have found a SUPER gift card holder/card (for all those I-Tunes / JB HiFi / Myer / Bunnings etc etc gift cards you may have purchased as Chrissy pressies) to share with you tomorrow … you are gonna luv it!!! … See you then!
Once again Andrea’s mega talented gene pool shine!!! Well done to bothe the kids. The mark of a true performer is to do it flawlessly in the utmost of adversity and it sounds like conditions were v v tough!! Now…as for Mum’s tag prowess…..u’ve done it again Andrea!! You have an incredible knack for making the most simple concept resemble a magical work of art and these tags are a prime example. Beautiful….just beautiful!! BTW…u can see the sparkle in the silver one…v v purdy. Well done lovely. ooxx
Andrea adds: Thanks blog buddy! You are so kind! I am beginning to get a really big ego thanks to your constant flattery!!! 😉 Have a happy day! xxx
