Janelle’s 21st Card

Hello!

I know Christine is waiting for this card (she forgot to have a look at the party) … so I thought I would quickly post it! I had a busy day today … and … after going to the school fair committee meeting last night and then up until 11.30pm doing the newsletter + fair leaflet … and then … (BLAH BLAH BLAH) … you really aren’t interested in all that … so I will get to the card!!! 😉

I was really happy with the way this one turned out. I wanted to do a pink card for Janelle (Christine’s daughter) because it is her favourite colour … but she had organised a “glitter party” for her 21st … and I had found the most gorgeous glitter gift wrapping … but it was in blues & silver … so she didn’t get a pink one after all!!!

This is another card made using the “I {Heart} Hearts” stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalogue. I am finding it a really versatile set. There are just so many ways to use it! (Time is running out to purchase this set and help the Haitian Disaster Relief Fund.) So … the glittery “21” & the key were from a sticker pack from the newsagent. I couldn’t resist the glitter … seeing it was a “glitter party”!!! 😀 There are 4 layers on the card … Whisper White / Pacific Point / Baja Breeze / Whisper White.  (And … yes … you did read correctly PACIFIC POINT!!! I actually think that this looks wonderful teamed with the silver/baja & white! So … just when we are nearing the end of Pacific Point … I am finally growing to like it!!! The Baja Breeze layer kinda disappeared because of the sponging … but it is a bit more obvious on the REAL card! And … of course … with gorgeous gift wrapping … I just had to do a matching envelope!

You can see in the enlargement here that I have used the masking technique to stamp the hearts across the card. I also used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the hearts inside each other. I used some scraps of Baja & Pacific to stamp (with Silver ink) and punch with the matching “Heart to Heat” punch … and add with dimensionals on top of the other hearts. A little silver cord (ret. SU!) and a little sponging to finish it all off! My dh thought it looked very professional!!! He is always impressed with my creations!

So … I really need to go to bed. My eyes are hanging out of my head!!! Just can’t cope with a midnight night any more! Oh … these Winter Olympics are going to be the death of me!!! Why can’t the northern hemisphere run things at a more reasonable time???
