Mother’s Day

Hi everyone!

I have been experimenting a little with colouring roses over the last couple of days. I have a lovely sample for our Stamp Club on Friday night … but that is still under wraps until after the class. But … here is another attempt … and I think this will be for my mum on Mother’s Day! (Not completely happy with it … but I do kinda like it!) The colours haven’t photographed too well on this card either. Must remember not to take photos so early in the morning … but wait for better lighting conditions! 😉

I have used Keesh’s Sketch #21 for this card … so don’t forget to click on the sketch pic to view all the gorgeous submissions for this challenge. There are some stunning samples here! Do you like my ribbon? This is the pretty double stitched Rose Red grosrain ribbon. I just pulled the stitching at one end to gather the ribbon. I quite like this effect! Adds a little more pizzazz. I’m not sure if you can see it … but after I coloured the rose … I embossed it with clear embossing powder! It gives a lovely glossy look. Details for colouring the rose can be found on my card recipe below. (Click recipe to enlarge & print!)

Should toddle off … plenty to keep me occupied today! See you all soon! Stampin’ Hugs xxx

This is so pretty Andrea – I always love colouring this rose. Great job with the sketch.
Andrea adds: Thanks for the lovely comment! I am imagining you have 4 boys … perhaps because of your “name”??? ❓ When I was young (before marriage) I always said I wanted 4 boys!!! Perhaps because I grew up with 2 sisters??? I have 2 boys and 3 girls!!! Keeps me busy! But I love it. xxx

Yes, I do have four boys Andrea – it’s nothing but fun. Of course it’s busy at times, but that’s fine. I LOVE it. I just realised that with wordpress it doesn’t link back to my blog so I’m from here: http://chan3boys.blogspot.com
(now does that confuse you!! – i started that blog when I had 3 boys!!
Andrea adds: LOL! So … was no. 4 a surprise? 😉 I think there is usually a spot in the comments to add a web link … because I usually get links attached to comments. (I just added yours to the “spot” so other people can click to visit, too!) Perhaps it is hiding for you??? Thanks for giving me your addy … off to visit now! 😀
