Pea in a Pod!

Hello everyone!

I saw the most adorable baby card on Fiona’s blog recently … and when I had to make a baby card a couple of weeks ago for a friend … I knew straight away that I wanted to try this CUTE idea! It was such fun to make this one! 😀 I teamed the Certainly Celery with Tempting Turquoise  … to give it a boy  colour scheme. But … I bet this would look great with Pink Pirouette or even Melon Mambo if you wanted something bright like this one!

This was a super quick card to make. I love those Pocket Silhouette stamps, too … they are FAB for filling in spaces … and perfect when you need some “vegetation”! The pea-in-a-pod is punched and then I sponged the edges of the Certainly Celery pieces with Old Olive ink and  I used a white gel pen to add the extra lines. The face had eyes & hair added with Close to Cocoa & Basic Black Markers and the cheeks were coloured with Blush Blossom. I have also done the rock &  roll technique on the butterfly (technique details on card recipe) … for some reason I often do this technique with this stamp! 😀 Love that “Whimsical Words” Sale-a-bration (FREE) stamp set!

The layout for this card was based on a Clean & Simple Sketch #13! Just love using the CAS layouts! They come together so quickly but look FAB!!!

So much to do … so little time! I will be back as soon as I can make it! Stampin’ Hugs xxx

Mmmmm, what a tasty little pea pod! I love peas! and babies are pretty cool too!

Yes that butterfly just asked for the rock’n’roll technique. It almost as if she can speak!

Anyway just thought I’d let you know that I have awarded your blog a Sunshine Award. Your blog provides me with a number of smiles and finally one big grin with every post. Details are on my blog.

    Cheers

This is sooo cute. I sometimes wish I had the time you have to spend making your cards superspecial when I just “throw” something together! This looks so easy though! I am so itching to do more cards but with only weekends to do them and having last weekend and this weekend out, it’s been a drought! Maybe next weekend?! Oh yes – next weekend will be great – stamping on Friday night and Saturday at your place – roll on next weekend!!
Andrea adds: LOL! I think perhaps you need to quit your job … and then you will be able to stamp to your heart’s content! This is an easy design … so sooooo cute! (I do have to thank Fi for the idea!) And … I am looking foward to our two classes … but makes for a busy week this week! Thank goodness I remembered to order those Sweet Treat Cups today … or I would have been in a pickle!!! 😉 xxAxx

    1. At least you have 32 swaps done, I have none, not a one, and nary an idea. Start hols Sat morning (praise God), have a b’day party that arvo, church Sunday, leaving 3 days to wash, pack & make swaps. Swaps might not happen I am thinking 😦
Andrea adds: Oh … poor Fi! I guess I would be in the same predicament … if Leonie hadn’t suggested that a group of us get together on May 1 to have a swap stamping day together! We all put it in our diaries … and we were able to get our swaps done … because we had allocated a date to do it! I am so glad she suggested it … because at least I have a start on mine! (I also helped Pepps to get some of hers done!) So … that is the only way I have had time to do mine, too! I have just yesterday started on 15 more of a different design! Not sure if I will get them finished … but we will see! 😉 I hope you find some spare minutes in the next week or so! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT IS NEXT WEEK!!! 😯 C U Soon! xxAxx
