Vintage Vogue Scallop Circle Card

Hello my friends!

I hope you are all safe and dry and warm! With a severe weather alert for the Illawarra at the moment … I am glad to be sitting on my snuggly bed while the rain and wind batters the windows! I don’t think the storms are going to be nearly as bad as as weather bureau had predicted before the weekend … but it still is pretty miserable out there! I felt sorry for Skye & Sandy going off to school this morning! And … guess what!!! Gav is back at work … still a little sore and sorry … but he has called to let me know that he is managing ok. With such a huge improvement … after consultation (by phone) with the chiro & the radiologist … they have decided to put the cortisone injection (into the nerves) off for a week … to see how he goes. If he has 1 good day and then 2 bad … then they will go ahead next Monday with it. But … if he continues to improve … then it won’t be necessary! Yippee!!! Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel. Finally I can get my life back into some sort of routine, too! Perhaps that might even mean some stamping! I actually did sit down last night … for a little while … desperate to stamp! Do you think I could find my mojo???? I was trying some sponging on a Manhattan flower embossed card … and after 3 attempts … threw them in the bin! (Sigh) I needed some inspiration? This is what I came up with …..

If any of you visit Monika’s wonderful blog … you would recognise this design. Yes … I have CASED this from her gorgeous card … just changed the colours a little. I have been wanting to try a scallop circle card since I got my Bigz Die … and finally got to do it! But … the design inspiration is totally Monika’s!!!! Hey … did you notice the cute little Pink Pirouette button? I used the Big Shot Sizzlits “Buttons” die to cut out the shape! I stuck a few 1/2″ punched circles to the back to give it some thickness … and some Crystal Effects on top to add a bit of gloss! (Sorry … didn’t mention this on my card recipe! I also forgot to mention the “rock n roll” technique on the flowers! See … I told you my brain was not functioning properly!!! 😀 😉 )  How fantastic to be able to make buttons to match any colour! Anyway … must stop procrastinating … and get that newsletter started!  See you tomorrow! Stampin’ Hugs xxx

  1. YAYAYAY Andrea, Gav’s back at work! That must be such a relief. I’m so surprised he is up walking around! It will nice for you to have some peace – and not to go up and down the stairs so much! I hope he goes ok this week!!
    Take care of yourself.

    Hey Andrea,

I am so happy for you that Gav is getting back on his feet that is fab news. Ohhhh that means all that step aerobics will be over now I guess. Were those calf muscles getting a good work out. Just kidding!! I don’t have that luxury of stairs so I am happy with that everything is on one floor for me. Although sometimes it would be nice for a little more privacy and a little more space. Love the card. I will have to bookmark this one. Love the vintage jumbo wheel in the background and the colours are fantastic together. thanks for sharing.

Andrea adds:Hi Liam! Yes … the calf muscles are relaxing again! 😀 If I was to build my own house … definitely NO STAIRS! But … you are right … we are able to have a little privacy up at our end of the house! Thanks for popping by … and thanks for your enthusiasm for the card! xxAxx

  3. Sooo glad to hear Gav is on the mend – hope he doesn’t need the injection! And when mojo is lacking a CASE is always a good idea – and you certainly chose a beauty to CASE!
    Hope your weather improves too!

Andrea adds: I think the worst of the weather has passed … thankfully it wasn’t too severe! Isn’t it a gorgeous card … Monika is very clever! Hugs xxAxx

Wow! Am doing a wee happy dance for Gav… and you! Sometimes we just need to have a little patience and faith!

This card is just stunning! Hmmmm and here I was thinking you’d started with Shannon’s CSP tutorial and adapted it to the scallop circle.

Good to hear that the wild and woolly weather has passed! And you’ve reached the other end unscathed!

Perhaps a little rest is in order…. and then you may find your mojo! I do hope it comes back!

    Cheers
    Sonia
Andrea adds: Yes! A little mojo would be very welcome at the moment! I am so tired I can’t even decide what to have for dinner! Thanks for the happy dance … Gav would join in … but NOT JUST YET!!!! 😀 Thanks too for the timely reminder … patience and faith! A good combination! We have just booked to go away for 2 weeks for the July hols … so I am doing a little happy dance at the thought of two weeks relaxing! (No internet … though!!! How will I survive???) 😉 Thanks for bringing a smile to my face, Sonia! Always love to open my comments and find one from my angel friend! xxAxx

Wow Andrea, that is stunning, absolutely love it!!! Glad to hear Gav is on the mend, hopefully he won’t overdo it! Although being a man, he probably will!!! I was excited to do your sweet treat cup tutorial last night, am holding a class that my upline normally holds (that I attend) on Thursday, so thought I’d better get my skates on and decide what we are doing! Will post some photos once I’ve finished them! Although with a sick baby and not well myself, not quite sure how I’m even going to be ready for the class… 😦 Anyway, enough about me! Take care

Andrea adds: I am so glad someone has found my tutorial helpful! Hope I didn’t miss something when I was putting it together! Which sample are you doing???? And … don’t worry about “enough about me” … it is good to off load sometimes … just feels as if you are sharing the burden. (Look how much I have done that lately!!!) 😉 Hope your baby is soon well again … and that you find the time to prepare for your class! I would love to see some photos! Hugs xxAxx
