Helping Hudson Week 2 Sketch Challenge

Hi there!

Yes! I know this one is closed … I am a doofus (just like Sarah K)! I finished this sample … and popped by the Helping Hudson Blog only to find the challenge was closed! DUH! 🙄 But … I still thought I would share it with you anyway! When I first saw this challenge sketch I went “uh-oh … circles”. I don’t know why I avoid circles on my cards … because I LOVE using my Circle Scissors Plus and this card was truly SUPER QUICK to make! I keep my CSP on my desk … so it is easy to reach out and use! I will just need to be more adventurous, I think! Click on sketch pic to visit Helping Hudson & view other gorgeous samples for this sketch challenge.

So … check out the NEW STAMP!!! This is called “For You Flower” and matches perfectly with the brand new “Fancy Flower Ex-Lge” Punch. Both are new products in the new 2010/2011 Idea Book & Catalogue! It is going to be a FAB combination for Q&E cards! You can whip one up in a few minutes (like this one!) I used a corner rounder punch to scallop the edge of the centre circle.

Now … I am going to give you a bonus card today. I knew that this was going to be a tricky colour combo as soon as I saw it. Definitely not my sort of colours … but I decided that I would give it a go. I have combined this colour combo with a sketch from Clean & Simple also.

I really struggled with this colour combo. It’s funny that some combinations just don’t appeal to you … but … I’m also sure that others will love it! We all have our favourite colours – our “go to” colours … but it is good to think outside the square sometimes. That’s what a “challenge” is all about! I wanted to show you this great flower stamp / punch combination, again! I love that I don’t have to cut around this flower stamp … and can use it as a feature so easily. I forgot to add “Simply Said” to the stamp list on the card recipe! (The flower around the edge!) I wonder what you think of this one? Perhaps you should scroll up and look at the first sample again!? Giggle!! 😉

Have a nice day … it is a gorgeous sunshiny day … here today! Stampin’ Hugs xxx
