I don’t think I have shown you the 50th anniversary card that I made recently for Gav’s mum & dad??? Yes … this is the 3rd 50th anniversary card that I have made in the last few months! 1960 must have been a wedding boom year!!! 😉 I am a little disappointed that SU! has retired the Gold & Silver Ink Pads from their range. I don’t use them heaps … but there are occasions when you do need a gold or silver ink.
There are lots of SU! products featured on this card … but the main image is non SU! This verse has been embossed with Gold Embossing powder (instructions on card recipe!) I have also used a couple of extra non SU! embellishments, too! But … sometimes a special occasion calls for special features. Gav’s mum is a real “blingy” girl … and I had some sparkly “50” numbers. Somehow they didn’t just fit right on the front of the card … but I wanted to include the sparkle for her … so I ended up popping them onto the inside of the card …
The main background stamp “En Francais” was inked by sponging gold ink randomly across the image. This meant the stamped image was not completely crisp … but I love that look! Kinda vintage looking. I love this soft flower image from the new Level 2 Hostess set called “Fast & Fabulous”. It is a really versatile image … and has a 2-step block stamp to team with this outline one, too! Lots of gold sponging … and another lovely “Love” verse + “Congratulations” from the new Level 3 Hostess set called “Occasional Quotes” to finish off the centre. And … of course … a special card also needs a special envelope!
For those who might be interested … Skye’s HSC Music Performance & Speech Exam went really well yesterday. We know that lots of people were praying for her … because she really wasn’t well … but somehow managed to hit all the high notes … and had the examiner bopping along to her jazz number. She came out feeling like she had done her best. So … thank you for all your prayers … they really did make her feel more confident and helped her to relax and perform to her best. Let’s hope it translates into a good mark! I hope you all have a lovely day. I have had more tears over my computer this morning … it always behaves when Gav is looking at the probs … and then mucks up when I need to use it! Do you think computers secretly have evil minds??? I have had enough for today … so might go and do some stamping and cooking. Stampin’ Hugs xxx

Andrea…this card is truly a magical work of art. I love how the gold and other elements balance to v v well. Looks very speccy in the pics but must kick butt IRL. Gav’s parents must have loved it to bits!! So glad that Skye went well (as if she wldn’t)!! 😉 Also v v happy to hear Sandy is on the mend. It feels good to achieve something don’t it?? I even blogged today!!! Be happy and well. ooxx
Andrea adds: Another day of lots of niggly annoyances. Too many phone calls … to many computer issues … not enough time to stamp AGAIN! But … I have to be positive … and thankful … and remember to count my blessings. (Feel free to slap me when I get so down in the mouth again!) This is very pretty IRL … and they did love it!
