Hello girls!
Well … it was nice to stop last night for a few minutes … and do some stamping. Just one card … mind you … but at least I stamped. I had to leave this half done to pop off to Bible Study … but I just couldn’t resist finishing this one when I got home … even though I was tired enough that I could have just dropped straight into bed! 🙂
I saw this colour challenge popping up on a few blogs … and was instantly drawn to the colours … and knew I HAD to give this one a go! And … I have a couple of new sets that were just calling out to be inked up. My new colour pack finally arrived yesterday … and it had my Early Espresso stamp pad & cardstock in it. Yes! Definitely had to try this challenge now that I actually had the colours!
How do I describe the Early Espresso colour??? I know I wondered how you could improve on the absolutely delicious & “can’t do without” Chocolate Chip???? But … I gotta tell you … I have instantly fallen in love with the deeper EE colour! It definitely is a deep black coffee (as in … no milk) colour. Simply gorgeous! I can’t wait to try out some more colour combos with this colour! And … of course … it was one of the new colours that I immediately had to get a whole pack of cardstock. 3 sheets (from the combo pack) was just not going to cut it!!! 😉
I have so many ideas floating around in my head … for the new & delumptious DSP packs that I have … the 11 brand new colours we have to play with (inc 5 new in colours) … and those new stamp sets! I am in stampers heaven … but am just bemoaning the fact that life continues to get in the way … and prevent me from stamping! 🙄 But … then … I stop and remember my friend from school (Sandy & her daughter are in the same class) who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer (it seems to be quite advanced) … and is really struggling with treatments & not being able to do very much … and that brings me back down to earth. I HAVE NOTHING to whinge about!!! All those tears of frustration over computer issues seem so self-indulgent now! 😦 I do need to get a little perspective! So … I am going to try and be a better person and not let all the trivial, unimportant issues get to me so much. 🙂
I am going to spend some time with my mum … and enjoy another lovely day. Perhaps I will get some stamping done … perhaps not. It doesn’t matter. I just have so much to be thankful for … and I will try to stop whining … ok!!! 😉 Stampin’ Hugs xxx

Romans 8:38-39 (New International Version)
38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Beautiful card, and a beautiful reminder that each day is a gift to be enjoyed! It is a blessing to know that even through trials, that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
I had the same wake up call the other night when I was moaning about something trivial, and then turned the TV on to see families struggling in the Pakistan floods – what a contrast to our lives here in Australia!!
Have a great day, and thanks for sharing .
Andrea adds: That is such a wonderful verse, Gabbi … and a good reminder! Thanks! 😀 Isn’t it amazing that God also helps us to remember the important things before we get too carried away. Nice to share. Thanks for listening! Sometimes I wonder if anyone reads my ramblings! (Although I do know that Lynda does!!! :D) Hugs xxaxx

I love this set Andrea and it is on my wish list….I have scoped SCS for ideas too and they are BEAUTIFUL!! The colour combo is so v v rich…and masculine, but you have made such a feminine card with it. The twisted ribbon looks WAY cool.
As for the other dilemas in the life of Lowcock, the best thing you can do is breathe and be a friend to those who need it. One thing we found out than illness scares a lot, and when dealing with such a massive mountain, those whom you can rely on are worth more than gold!!! Know that u always inspire….even if we don’t tell you enough!! ooxx
Andrea adds: I can always count on you for some encouragement, thanks, Lynda! Another smile for the day moment! 🙂 The card is for my sis & b-i-l’s anniversary … so it kinda had to be masculine & feminine! I’m guessing the choice of colours is a go-er then!? 😉 Big hugs xxaxx

ohhhh….. very pretty. I didn’t like this set much but you are making it very appealling now!! Darn another expense to add to my very long wish list. Man I am going to be broke by Christmas for sure at this rate. Love it.

Andrea adds: I have to confess to being a little self indulgent with the new catty … but I did manage to sell ALL my colour packs and a few stamp sets … and this has pretty much funded my new purchases! I am thinking this set is going to be heaps versatile. I’m not into birds much … but this bird is pretty with the flourishes & flowers. And … I love the intricacy of the image with the flowers … and that swirly flouish is REALLY PRETTY … and I was lacking a decent flourish stamp. Do you think I have justified my purchase enough yet??? giggle 😉 Hugs xxaxx

That card is just stunning, I love it. Have feeling that stamp set might have to end up on my wish list. There are quite a few packs of CS that I have to buy, Early Espresso is one, so are Pear Pizazz and Marina Mist, yummy.
Andrea adds: Yes!!! All 3 of those card packs (+ Concord Crush & Blushing Bride) are on their way to me today! (Just got the shipping notice!!!) I indulged a little and bought some ribbons, too! Hugs Andrea xxx

Oh I love your twisted ribbon. It’s the little things you do that make such a huge difference!
In life there are always people better off and worse off than us! Sometimes we just need to clean our glasses to see outside our own worlds… but that doesn’t mean that your trials aren’t also important, so feel free to air it with us, for it helps us know that we are normal!
Cheers
Sonia
Andrea adds: Thanks for the encouragement and care, Sonia! It warms my heart to know that my blogging friends are so supportive. Hugs xxaxx

Such a pretty card Andrea! Love how you used the colors! That hummingbird is perfect! Love your twisted ribbon treatment! :o)
Andrea adds: Some stamp sets make it soooo easy to create gorgeous cards! The twisted ribbon was a bit of a ‘fluke’ but it did work well! Hugs Andrea xxx
