Hello everyone!
Isn’t it a gorgeous day! I am so enjoying sitting at my desk watching the flowers wave in the breeze … and the water in the pool gently rippling. With all the rain we have had you can almost see the grass growing!!! We sure do need to mow! But … Shane is preparing for exams next week … so I guess I can cut him a bit of slack at the moment! I have been playing around with a project for the next JAI challenge … but had to stop and do a card for a combined husband/wife 60th birthday morning tea that we are going to tomorrow. It is a little tricky creating something for both male & female on the same card … so I went to my “TO CASE” file for some inspiration! Here is what eventuated …
I actually saw this card on Paula’s blog … but it is a creation of Bron Heslop’s … so you might like to pop by both blogs. They are both well worth the visit! 😀 Again … I have tweaked it a little. I was keen to use some satin ribbon for the elegant appeal … but sadly realised that I only had 3 or 4 colours … and nothing that seemed right for a combined card. I had either male colours or female colours … so I settled for the white. I was quite happy with the result. I was going to use Night of Navy for a base … but somehow the Elegant Eggplant jumped out of my cardstock draw … and I just HAD to use it! Giggle!!! 😉 I know … I have used purple quite a bit lately. It just seems to be my “go to” colour at the moment! 😀

Being a special birthday … I had a thought to emboss the paper that I used as an insert … it worked pretty well … and looks quite pretty on the inside of the card. I also embossed an envelope to match! It all came together quite nicely! 😀 Daughter no. 2 asked why I did a “congratulations” on the front … when it was a birthday card!??? Hhhmmm … I actually thought it was appropriate because of the milestone … but now I am doubting my decision!!! 🙄 What do you think??? I have put a birthday phrase inside.
Anyway … I think I might go and have a dip in the pool. And … then I might get back to my JAI project. Have a nice weekend, everyone! xxaxx
ADDED: OOOPS! I FORGOT TO ADD TO MY CARD RECIPE THAT THE “CONGRATULATIONS” WAS EMBOSSED WITH GOLD EMBOSSING POWDER.
beautiful Andrea. I love embossed on white cards.
Andrea adds: Thanks A! Embossing on white cards … always looks so crisp and elegant … doesn’t it! Hugs xxaxx

I am luvin this “Purple Patch” you are going thru at the mo. Such a beautiful colour and you have complimented it fantasically with the white adn gold. As for the “congratulations” for the occasion…I think it is a nice sentiment. I am a tad puzzled abt the white oval over the embossed pic. Another stunning card…keep it going. ooxx
Andrea adds: Don’t stress … I had written a personal message on the inside of the card … before I thought to photograph it! So … I tried to haze it out with the opaque oval. Thanks for the encouragement! Hugs xxaxx

WOW! This is gorgeous – and would look great in purple, blue or any colour. The bling makes it even more special.
“Congratulations” IS appropriate for any birthday – and certainly worth celebrating!
Thanks for sharing!

I love this card Andrea! It looks so elegant and is just perfect for a joint 60th birthday. I could see it as a wedding card too 🙂 And I love how you embossed the envelope, such a special finishing touch.
Andrea adds: I thought the same thing Sandra! It would be nice for wedding or anniversary. Hugs xxaxx
