Inkspirations Colour Challenge #48

Hi there my friends!

I simply do not know what is going on with the weather at the moment. After a stinkin’ hot weekend … it is now raining again … and I just had to go and put my jeans on … cos I was sitting here feeling a little coolish! Not that I am complaining, mind you! I love the rain. And … after several years of drought … it is so nice to have a completely different weather pattern happening and see everything looking sooooo lush & lovely! Shane will be happy to arrive home from his last exam (he finished exactly 2 mins ago) … and find out he CAN’T MOW!!! (Yep! Our lawn is in desperate need of a haircut! … but the rain will stop that from happening today! 😉 ) It is also great to have plenty of water in the water tanks … and relax the short shower rules just a tad!

Well … I have to say thank you to all my wonderfully special blog friends. What would I do without you all??? I was feeling so flat yesterday … (NO MOJO) … and you all took a moment to brighten my day with encouragement and support! Thanks so much for all the lovely kind comments! Bron hit the nail on the head when she said “… and you know what? We just have to be true to our own style!” This was an enourmous help … and I realised that this was exactly what I needed to do. Stop stressing about everything I see around … and trying to imitate it. Just go with my own “flow of mojo”! So … I am going to take Bron’s advice! Now … I have a smile on my face … and feel a lot more positive! 😀

Ok … onto today’s project! And … I am smiling again … because … I have done a CASE for this challenge! So … after just saying that I am not going to “imitate” … I turn around and do exactly that!!! 😯 BUT … I am imitating something that IS MY STYLE … so I don’t think that really counts, does it??? 😀 😉 (Click on challenge pic above … cos you WILL WANT to see all the gorgeous DT creations as well as the other entries for this challenge!) Here is my entry …

I popped over to Alison Charlton’s blog this morning … and discovered she had done a “metric” tutorial for the cute little magazine holders that are the perfect size for storing a normal sized card. I immediately knew that I had found the inspiration for the latest colour challenge by Keesh! So … I am not really sure about the protocol with challenges. Is it acceptable to enter a project that is CASEd??? This is almost a full CASE … cos I actually loved Alison’s creative design so much … that apart from changing it to a Christmas theme to match the challenge colours … it is almost identical. I guess … what I am saying is … I will enter this … but will totally understand if it is not eligible! I was so excited with the result of my latest stamping efforts … so … I wanted to share it with you anyway.

I can tell you … I am soooooo going to make some more of these. They are so quick & easy! AND GORGEOUS! 😀 Well … I do have to go and call Leonie (N). I am having withdrawals … cos we haven’t seen each other since our faux Incentive … and I haven’t had a decent chat in ages! So … I will toddle off now! Thanks again for all your lovely friendship and comments! I really appreciate YOU all! And … thanks for sticking with me for this LOOOOOOOOOOONG post!!! 😀 😀 xxaxx

PS: All the measurements for this project are on my card recipe … but please pop by Alison’s blog … to view the gorgeous inspiration I found there. Alison also has a picture tutorial for this cute “magazine holder”. (It is worth bookmarking!) xxaxx

Andrea adds: Thanks for convincing me that there is a little of me in this project! 😀 You are such a hunny! What a great idea for monthly files! I have made one of those monthly books … but find I can’t store enough in them! These would make a great filing system! hhhhmmmm … will have to think about that one! 😀 Hugs xxaxx

I love how you include the project recipe at the end, too – what a babe! Thank you.
Andrea adds: Thanks Bron! Sometimes I wonder if it is worth the effort … but … I can’t remember the last time I was called “a babe” … so I guess it is worth it even for that! 😉 !!! grin … hugs xxaxx

Hey there gorgeous. I’ve been MIA for two days so have just managed to come and see your gorgeous creation. I love it and I’m so glad that you are feeling happy with it. I personally love all of your cards, I know how much love goes into all of them, which is what makes them so special. But, I am glad that you are feeling like this is more true to yourself. I honestly know how that feels. I look at some cards and wish I could do clean and simple, but I just don’t do it well at all, so I’ve given up trying to imitate those who can 🙂

I love this sample that you’ve made for the colour challenge. Great stamp set, great style and I love the box. I love how there is just a glimpse of Kraft and I’m loving the polka dot ribbon too, just yummy. Thanks for the link as well.

Hope you have a wonderful day. Hope to chat again soon. I’m so happy we got to have a “real” chat…it was very special. Thanks so much, you are a special lady.

    Love and hugs

Andrea adds: Now that comment has to earn some points … for being the most thorough and thoughtful for the day! 😀 Giggle! Thanks for all your lovely encouragement, Lee-Anne. It was a very special for me, too … to be able to chat! Just can’t imagine what it would be like for us to meet and get a REAL HUG!!! Hope it happens one day! 😀 xxaxx

This is an absolutely adorable project Andrea! Love that you have combined EoS & SoJ (two of my favourite sets) & thank you for sharing the measurements. It may be a CASE of Alison’s lovely work, but it is so cute (& I’m sure that lots of people will be doing a CASE of yours!) 🙂
Andrea adds: LOL! Thanks Helen. I am glad I shared it in the challenge, now! Even if it doesn’t actually qualifiy! I am thrilled that I have highlighted a cute project of Alison’s … and inspired others to try it out! Hugs xxaxx

  14. Andrea, this is really beautiful. I am so glad you just enjoyed sitting down and making it; we are all guilty at times of losing sight of just having fun (which is what this stamping caper is all about, isn’t it?). I love your faux stitching, and choice of stamps. Gorgeous little project, and may there be many happy stamping hours in the days ahead!
Andrea adds: Thanks Christine! Yes … you are sooo right! Stamping should be fun! Hugs xxaxx
