Hi again to all my blog friends!
Yes … I finally caught up on some blurfing yesterday … while I was feeling a little low. Always a great “pick-me-up” to hop around and see what everyone has been doing … and I bookmarked some gorgeous creations to CASE at some stage! I did manage to do a tiny bit of creating … while the “drugs” (for cold & flu) kicked in … but did start to wilt towards late afternoon again. An early night was a good plan! 😀 I am feeling a little better this morning and hopefully the antibiotics will start making an impact soon. (I hope!)
I was on a bit of a challenge blitz with this card. Both the latest colour and sketch challenge emails had landed in my inbox from Stamping 411 … and I loved BOTH so much that I decided to combine the two to create this card. I had also checked out the SUO (Stampin’ Up! ONLY) email … and discovered that the challenge for this month was to use a retired SU! set … and so … I decided to add a 3rd challenge element to this card. I am thrilled with the results!
So … the retired stamp set is “Merci” … an old favourite from Sale-a-bration 2009! I had forgotten how much I love this set … and must remember to pull it out again soon! All the images are stamped with Black Stazon … and then I have ‘watercoloured’ each image using my Aqua Painter … and then added highlights using my Blender Pen. A little colour spritzing on the background just added a “little something” to finish it off.
I just had to show you one other photo that Jenny sent to me today! Isn’t it good to be able to laugh at yourself. This is Leonie helping me to blow out the candles on my birthday cake (cheese ball)! I had to giggle … it’s like when we feed a small child and every time they open their mouth … we do the same! Another quiet day today … doctor’s orders. (Gav’s orders!!!) C U again soon! Hugs xxaxx

hi Andrea! Oh what a pretty card! I never did get this stamp set but you made it look so adorable and springy for us here in the US. I miss blogging but had fun visiting you. I guess I must have passed that dang flu to you via cyber space huh! I am so sorry you are feeling as bad as I did a week ago. I promise you will feel perky again just not anytime soon. Take care of yourself and get lots of rest. I’ll be talking to you….Donna
Andrea adds: Hi there, Donna! So glad to see you … I hope you are enjoying your break! I guess I should say thank you … for passing on your cold! You are so kind!!! 😉 This is s sweet stamp set. It was tucked away at the bottom of my shelf. But … I will be using it again … for sure! Hugs xxaxx

This card is so pretty, the colours are really subtle – just gorgeous! I really like how the butterfly pops!
And to believe that you could complete three challenges with one card – that is a challenge in itself!! Well done.
Hope you are beating the nasty bug and feeling much better today. Continue with the stamping therapy & you should make a full recovery!
Thanks for sharing!

Andrea adds: Hi Gabbi! I think I should make you my permanent doctor … if that is the advice you give! Feeling a little better … but enjoying some “quiet” time! 😀 Sometimes there are blessings hidden in the trials! 😀 Thanks for sharing your creations today! I enjoyed seeing what you have been up to! That is such a pretty card, and to do three challenges in one is pretty cool.
I hope you are feeling much better soon, though the rest will be good for you.

Andrea adds: I must admit it has been nice having an excuse just to sit and “be”! (Although … with stamping and blogging … I haven’t had a lot of “be” time!) 😉 Hugs xxaxx

You are clever! Managing to get all those challenges onto the one card and it’s so pretty Andrea.
Cute photo too. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Andrea adds: Sometimes everything comes together beautifully! I just wish that would happen more often. 😉 I wish I could bottle the mojo … cos I often feel less than satisfied with a card! A little sprinkle each time I create might be handy! 😀 Hugs xxaxx

I’m so sorry that you are ill. You do too much in life to have to slow down for a flu bug!!
You did still manage to create a beauty of a card. I don’t have that set but I found myself mentally trying to figure out how I could recreate it with what I have. I think I feel a CASE coming on!
Andrea adds: LOL … I’m sure your’s will be gorgeous no matter what stamp set you use! I will be checking to see what you do! Hugs xxaxx

Hi Andrea.
Wow i love this card it is right up my alley with it’s style, it is clean but yet very elegant, you make me wish i didn’t pass on this stamp set,
i might even have to CASE it, if thats alright with you.
What a solider, still crafting while under the weather…..see us women can do anything even when ill, in fact for some of us it makes us better creaters……
men think the world is coming to an end when unwell…my hubby is just starting to feel unwell and already we are hearing all about it.
Hope you are better soon
Andrea adds: LOL … yes … the “man flu” obviously is so much more worse than the “girl flu” … or SO IT SEEMS!!! And … when my dh has a slight cold … he loses his voice and sounds 10X worse than I ever do! He gets much more sympathy and attention! Perhaps I should stay in bed and look for more sympathy??? 😀 Please feel free to CASE away! Hugs xxaxx

Creating cards in a drug induced haze huh??? Gotta be something illegal there don’t you think??? I am so glad that Dr Lowcock (Gav) is keeping a close eye on you….payback for when he did his back!!
The card is beautiful!! I am still scratching my head as to how with this and all the Ink4U stuff that you are putting in how you have time to even sniffle??? Love the spritzing. I have Merci but have never inked it..boo hoo….thanks for reminding me of its potential. Take care of you. ooxx
Andrea adds: Oh … Lynda! You have gotta try it out … it is such a sweet set! And … yes … I really don’t have time to sniffle … but I am probably prolonging the ills … because I am not taking it quiet enough! I am a sucker for stamping and challenges … even when I am under the weather! Hugs xxaxx
