Just Add Black & White

Hi Bloggies!

Yayayayayayaya! I am doing a happy dance! I finally stamped!!! Talk about withdrawals!!! After 4 weeks of hospital runs / funeral prep / recovery … I was determined this morning to STAMP!!! I saw this JAI challenge on a few blogs that I managed to visit last week … and instantly knew I just HAD to play along! I love Black & White cards … and it was a fun challenge! For some reason I can’t get the link to attach to the challenge pic! You can find the challenge (& gorgeous DT designs) here -> JAI

I must admit … the “mojo” that was floating around in my head … took a little while to pull out. This was actually “take 2” for this card! But … I am really happy with the final result! 🙂 My creation is a combination of a few inspirational ideas that I have seen on my blog travels recently … I just pulled them all together. Sorry … I can’t remember where I got the idea for the “masked” background or the punched flowers on the stalks (I saw this on a couple of blogs).  And … of course … now I wanna do MORE stamping!!! Stace is coming over this arvo to help make some more baby thank  you cards. She has used all the ones that we made a few weeks ago. She is keen to send them out asap … we kinda had a few hiccups & distractions & she hasn’t managed to get them all done yet. Anyway … I had better go clean up my desk … and perhaps do another challenge??? I might try a new one??? Yes … I am excited!!!! 😀

I do have a busy week (again) … but hopefully I will find the time to pop back and post each day! Have a nice day everyone! Hugs xxaxx

Black & White is so sophisticated – ♥ love it. 🙂 You have done so many things on the one card too – stamping, masking, punching, rhinestones, ribbons, popped flowers and fancy borders. Just lovely. 🙂 So glad you enjoyed stamping!!! 😉
We are home from the athletics carnival – which went ahead today ( 😯 ) – all of us needed a shower & warm clothes – except for Ella who stayed the driest in the pram with the storm cover on (even though at one stage I had abandoned her in the rain to seek cover up the stairs in the stadium 😉 ). It is so hard to make the call as to whether the carnival should go ahead, when the track is so heavily booked – but today just was not a day to run events in between the torrential rain bursts!!! The last race that ran before we all evacuated was the girls 8yo 100m. It was so funny, because there was a dozen girls running on the track through the rain to do the race, while dozens of other girls ran along side the track to get back to the stadium and out of the rain 😛 !
Anyway, we are snuggling in this afternoon and warming up. Great day for hot chips for lunch if we can draw short straws as to who will run in & pay for them!
    Have a lovely day!

Andrea adds: Oooh, Gabbi … it sounds perfectly miserable!!! 😦 How did your girls go? I can’t imagine anything worse than standing in the rain. Do you go to Beaton Park? And … it was the perfect day for hot chips for lunch … or maybe … cheese, avocado & red onion toasties!!! (What we had!) 🙂 Hugs xxaxx

Laura only did long jump – landing in wet (!!) sand, and Hannah (who is 7 this year, completing with the 8yo) was just thrilled to be there – being in Yr 2 & being allowed to go with the ‘primary’ kids. She kept telling me that she got to do “Shoot-Put” 🙂 It started late because of the rain & we had left, drenched, by 11.30am. Luckily, we have been chilling out for the rest of today – or should that ‘warming up’?. Hope you had a good day too.

Andrea adds: Oooh … how nice to go home early … and be all snuggly and warm! Better than being at school! Congrats to Laura & Hannah!) Hugs xxaxx

Andrea adds: Yes … for a little while. I have 5 more days of freedom before mum goes into hospital. Mind you … tomorrow I take her for her pre-op appt … and Thursday we are going to the council to choose a plaque for Dad’s grave. And … Friday I am going with Stace for more blood tests for Bree & then up to Stanwell Park to pick up a load of kids from school camp. So … not so much free time this week, either!!! 😦 When will life be normal again??? Hugs xxaxx

Owww I love that background…did you use the spritzer, I have only ever used mine once, complete fail too :(!

    Thanks for sharing
Andrea adds: Katie … yes … I used the spritzer on top of sponging. The sponging gives a more defined outline … and the spritzer adds the extra detail of darker spots! I love the effect … it’s the first time I have used both together … and I think it looks lovely! Hugs xxaxx
