The Paper Players Challenge #51

Hello bloggies!

You may remember the dramatic story I told you about Bree’s blood tests (scroll to almost end of post) that were taken the day after my dad died??? Well … even though the paediatrician was “happy” with the last results … he has asked that these tests be repeated 2 weeks later … just to be sure that the levels are okay. So … it is with fear & trepidation … that Stacey & I are off to the pathology collection place with Bree this morning! The GP has assured Stace that they will not need as much blood this time … but even 1 ml was stressful last time … so we are not looking forward to this outing! I do hope this won’t be as traumatic as last time!!! 😯 Anyway … I saw this challenge over on Sandra’s blog recently … and just new I wanted to try these bright colours! Here is my challenge card for this colour combo …

Well … I have splashed lotsa colour on this one. I hope I haven’t overdone it!!??? 😉 The background is brayered using the 3 colours from the challenge. The tulips & flower border were inked using markers to rubber. I hope you can see the gorgeous sparkle that I have added to each of the flowers. I just LOVE Dazzling Diamonds. A really quick and easy card … and such a bright, happy combination!

Well … I had better fly … have to get going to Stacey’s! Hope to be back to do some blog hopping this afternoon. Have a happy day! Hugs xxaxx

What a gorgeous card – the colours are happy colours! Love the brayering background too!
Hope your day went well & the blood from the heel prick happened much easier this time. It is so hard to watch such a wee little bub getting the prick & squeeze.
    Cheers,
    ♥ Gabbi ♥
Andrea adds: Thanks for your thoughts (and text) Gabbi! WE are very thankful that this time was a lot less traumatic! Only 1ml needed instead of 4!!! So … we still had a screaming baby. (How do you manage to scream and suck at the same time??? — Stace had timed her feed to try and keep her calm!) But … it was a much quicker exercise. (Only took about 20 mins!) Thanks, Gabbi! ♥ ♥ Hugs xxaxx

WOW…and WOW again….This is such a stunner darl. I love the vibrancy of this and the brayering looks brilliant!!! It just looks like a snapshot of someone’s garden.
I hope all goes well with Bree and her blood tests. if it makes you feel any better, the gals that take the blood hate doing it to kids too. Sending lotsa hugs and kisses to all of you. ooxx
Andrea adds: All okay, Lynda! (See Gabbi’s comment!) Still a little upsetting … but Stace didn’t cry this time! 🙂 And … yes … I know … the girls must feel terrible! And … I am trying to inspire you to get that brayer out of its box … and dust it off and use it (for the first time!!!) 🙂 There is an agenda behind my choice!!! Hugs xxaxx

I hope everything went ok with Bree this morning. Talking of Bree …. we haven;t seen any photo’s for a little while (hint, hint). She must be getting so big now!
Andrea adds: Oh Sandra! You are right … no photos recently … but I don’t want to bore anyone! I will try and find one to share asap, though! I really loved this colour combo … although I think I told you … my first impression was “yikes”! I was happy with the result! xxx Hugs xxaxx

What a fab card Andrea – all bright and happy and sparkly! Doubly impressive since you must be worrying about Bree’s blood tests. You have my full sympathy – babies and taking blood just do not go at all. Vx
Andrea adds: Thankfully Bree’s blood tests were a little less traumatic than last time. Just waiting for results now … but there doesn’t seem to be any need to worry. Hugs xxaxx
