A Single Layer Card

Hello again my friends!

It is Friday night … and I have had a busy day! 😀 Skye is watching “So You Think You Can Dance (US)” at the moment … and is nice and fresh after another sponge bath/hair wash. The dogs are snoring … the big kids are out at youth group & Sandy is “early to bed” tonight … after a really full on week! So … I am quickly going to post a card … and have an early night, too! 😀 (Although … because she needs my help … it can only be as early as Skye’s last toilet stop for the night! 😉 ) She will die that I said that on my blog!!!!!!!!! 😉

This was a card I made for a challenge at our Clayton’s Convention at Leonie’s in May! We had to do a single layer challenge … and I had a ball stamping flowers all over. Now … this is one of those cards … that the photography just doesn’t do it justice! There is pretty Dazzling Diamonds all over the flowers … and it is such a sparkly, gorgeous card IRL! Much more fairy like … than the picture shows. Here are the samples from the other girls. Some of them found this a tricky challenge … having never done a “single layer” card before! A couple of these are not quite finished … I had to take some quick picks before I left to go home. (Apologies for the repeat pics!)

I am pleased to say that Mum was looking a lot brighter this morning when I saw her. She had a much better night sleep and was starting to feel less panicky about all that she was having to deal with. After coming down from Sydney(1 hour drive) with a couple of meals yesterday and to spend some time visiting Skye … my lovely s-i-l (Gav’s sis) came down again  today … especially to take me to see my mum! She knew I was perfectly capable of driving myself the 20 mins to the hospital … but she just knew how tired I was. Isn’t it nice when someone just says “I am doing this for you … “and you can just feel perfectly free to say “okay”! 😀 It was just what I needed … to see my mum … without having to drive myself. It was so thoughtful.

Well … it is now nearly 10pm (my sis & hubby have just left after popping by to visit Skye) … so I am going to sign off and try and get to bed! We are off to the X-ray place early tomorrow with Skye for a weekly check. We are praying that the bones are still aligned and all is okay! See you soon! Hugs xxaxx

What a stunner Andrea. Love it and you have met the challenge of the single layer card full on!!! I can just imagine ur glee stamping all these flowers. they look so beautiful. Must have taken you a while to colour the heart!!!
As for Skye…SYTYCD (US) is AWESOME…how good are kent and Billy Bell??? I feel like such a desperate cougar perving and in awe of these magical dancers!!! Wld love to know who Skye likes…dance wise of course!!
Glad you got to just breathe today and 2 thumbs up to ur SIL!! Way to go!!
Take it easy darl. (and btw Skye…we all pee….just ur degree of difficulty is a little larger than most at present!!) ooxx
Andrea adds: LOL … this was a fun stamping experience … you are right, Lynda! The other girls were grumbling and complaining about how hard this challenge was and I was skipping through a field of flowers! I asked Skye which dancer she liked … and she said she hadn’t watched it enough to know. I don’t think that watching the dancing qualifies you as a perving cougar. I certainly don’t think of myself that way!!! 😉 Thanks for the giggle. Hugs xxaxx

This is such a pretty card Andrea. I love the colours you chose and ALL those flowers! This is going into my CASE file, my friend!!
Andrea adds: I always get a big smile on my face … when someone says one of my cards is going into their CASE file! Can you see it today, Paula??? 😀 Hugs xxaxx

This is a lovely card. You’d never know it was just one layer on the first glance. Most one layer cards are clean and simple, yet you’ve managed to fill up the white with beautiful colour.
So nice that you’ve got someone taking care of you too!
    I hope Skye’s X-ray shows some improvement.
    Cheers
    Sonia
Andrea adds: Hi Sonia! Nothing to report from X-rays yesterday … I guess we need to wait until Tuesday when we see the specialist! Hugs xxaxx

Andrea, my 11yr old daughter was with when me when we clicked on your blog and we both said at the same time WOW! This is a beautiful card. I would love to CASE your card, so have filed away your recipe. Glad to hear that your mum and Skye are on the mend. TFS Cheers Donna Zammit 🙂
Andrea adds: Thanks for sharing your moment, Donna! It cheered me up so much! Hugs xxaxx

One layer perfection! Love those stamped flowers and how they mimic the shape of the heart. Glad your mum is hanging in there and hope all went well with Skye’s x-rays. 🙂
Andrea adds: Thanks for the lovely comments, Jen! Skye seems to be suffering a little more with pain today (Sunday) after the X-rays yesterday. I hope the exertion didn’t do any harm … and that all is okay on Tuesday! Hugs xxaxx

This is an amazing card, Andrea! I love the colours, the way you have stamped the garden of flowers and the boder that you have drawn. Fantastic!

Glad to hear that your Mum is feeling a little. You’ve all been thrugh so much lately, it’s understandable to feel a bit overwhelmed.

I hope everything goes well with Skye on Tuesday. I’ll be thinking of you.
Andrea adds: Thanks for the understanding and compassion, Sandra! I wonder if this tiredness will ever pass? But … I am sure one day I will wake up .. and suddenly feel okay!!?? 😀 Hugs xxaxx

  8. Yay, another So You Think You Can Dance fan!….I love that show. Do you and Skye have a favorite yet? Beautiful card, as always, girlie.
Andrea adds: I have only seen it occasionally so … no fav yet! I usually do have a fav … but somehow life has been a little interfering with TV watching lately! Who is your fav??? Hugs xxaxx
