Red, White & Blue!

on

Hi Bloggies!

I hope all my US blog friends had a wonderful 4th of July! I always think of the 4th of July as the day after Skye’s birthday … but I guess there are more important things going on in the world apart from that!!! Giggle! 🙂 The card I have today is for the Friday Mashup! Usually I like to “mash it up” and combine the two elements of the challenge … but … this time my brain was on holiday and I had no inspiration at all for something patriotic … so I just went with the Red, White & Blue!

So … after I made this card … I sat and looked at it … not quite sure if I actually liked it??? It is totally away from my usual style! But … now … two days later … I think it is growing on me!!!??? 😉

I do love anything that I make with the owl punch. After resisting for so long … I wonder now why I did! It is just the cutest punch ever! And … without the owl … this would be rather boring … don’t you think??? I had a need for a male thank you card … so this is just perfect!

Mum is probably off to the rehab hospital today or tomorrow. The blood transfusion did make her feel A LOT better … and her energy levels seem to be increasing. So … now she just needs to work on getting that hip moving again. Hopefully she will be home by Monday … after a few days at rehab. But … if there is something we have learnt with all our hospital experiences lately … don’t count on time quotes! 😉 My two sisters are coming her to have some lunch … (with a couple of their kids) … and Stacey is also on her way! So … I had better scurry and get some lunch organised! Hugs xxaxx

This is just lovely! Love the embossing and the scored lines, accents it all perfectly! That owl is just too CUTE!! Great job!

Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Friday Mashup! Hope your mom comes home sooner rather than later!

Hi Andrea, Hopefully life will return to some normal routine for you shortly after all the hospital dramas, perhaps after the leg surgery heals!.

Love what you’ve done with the Red, White and Blue theme at the Friday Mashup this week, I choose not to mash it up as well. Us Aussies tend to be rather understated with our patriotism except when it comes to sport!

Yes the Owl punch is really quite cute and can be very versatile too. Lovely to see you playing along with us again. Good Luck.
    Cheers,

Andrea adds: Hi Kasey! So glad I am not the only “slack” one! I enjoyed playing along! Although … not convinced that I really like it yet!!! 😉 Hugs xxaxx

I love this little guy too Andrea – it’s my fave punch! Love the clean look of your card, even though there are lots of interesting details.
Good to hear that the transfusion helped your Mum. 🙂
Andrea adds: Thanks Helen! It was a fun idea … even if I didn’t “nail it” too well. Hugs xxaxx

I think your card is very patriotic, just the color combo and they sentiment could be a card for a Service Member.. Perfect for this week’s Challenge.. I love how the background looks like a flag. Glad to hear you Mom is doing better… I hope she has a speedy recovery and gets to come home soon. Thanks for joining us this week at the Friday Mashup!
Andrea adds: Hi Holly! How generous to work out how I could be “mashing it up” on this one! Just takes a moment to think outside the square … doesn’t it! Hugs xxaxx

This card’s sentiment could reflect how all of us feel abt you!!!! Great card for the theme. Perfect male card….so all boxes checked. I have not inked this owl yet, but he definitely deserves to. I am so happy to hear that everything Lowcock is now moving in an orderly and positive direction…a trend that SHOULD continue!!!
A bleated Happy 4th to all in the US.
Well done darl….happy with all ur creations (as usual). Take care of you!! ooxx
Andrea adds: And … now I am beginning to get an inflated head … so best to stop now, Lynda! Oh … look … it is your last comment for today!!! 😉 grin 🙂 Hugs xxaxx

Love the red, white and blue… although the blues a bit lighter than the flag…lol! I haven’t got the owl…. and I don’t think I will. I love the cards that are made with it, but it’s just not me.
I hope your mum made it to rehab hospital and that you had a lovely lunch with your sis and neice.
    Cheers

Andrea adds: Just toasted sangers for lunch … but it was nice to share a little time with them. Mum is doing well … I am sure she is going to find rehab really helpful. Hugs xxaxx
