I am keen to open up my “To CASE” file today … and do some stamping … but before I do that I thought I would share a new technique that Tracey showed us at our Clayton’s Convention in May. (Yes … I still have a couple more cards to show from this fun event!) This is called Stained Glass … and is a really interesting technique with a real ‘WOW’ factor. Tracey is such a clever little chicken! I hope you can see the pretty pearl jewels that I have added to the flowers on the embossed background???
There is a pretty glossy look to this … that makes it look just like a stained glass window. So … the step by step details for this technique are listed on the card recipe below. The secret to this technique is creating a stamp made from scraps of rubber … stuck to a wood block or clear plastic block. You need to place the scraps of rubber so the edges are almost but not quite touching the next piece … leaving a small “gap” between each piece of rubber. I forgot to add “brayer” to the list of tools on this recipe! Sorry! 🙄
I also have a couple of quick happy snaps to share! It was such a beautiful day yesterday (when the wind dropped for a while) … and so I took Bree outside for a walk to see the sheep. Skye decided to follow and managed to walk some distance using her crutches. She has pretty much only gone to the toilet and back … so it was nice to get outside and get some fresh air! So … we spent a little time with the dogs and enjoying the sunshine! Shane was off to work … but managed a quick cuddle of Bree before he went. (He is usually the last on the tag list for cuddles!)
So … I am going to stamp … yayayaya! It is so quiet here on a Saturday afternoon … with everyone out at soccer. But … it is pretty windy … so I am glad to be warm and snug inside! 😀 Hugs xxaxx
Love this card to bits darl’n..looks sooooo good. Again…yet another onthe ever growing list of things I have to try….LOL. EOS wks so well with this techy….don’t it??
Bree doing XBox…what a giggle. She is growing so v v quick. Be stamping with Nandy before you know it!!! Well sone to Skye getting out in the sun…best medicine EVER.
Take care of you. MWAH ooxx
Andrea adds: Oooh … I hadn’t thought of that … but perhaps she will be stamper??? How excitement! I think Skye has overdone it a little today … after going and sitting at soccer for 4 hours yesterday. She had a bad night … and is very tired this morning! She insists she is off to Harry Potter at midnight on Tues night … but … hhhmmm … the mum in me says “not a good idea”??? Hugs xxaxx
That’s a very pretty card & fun looking technique. It looks like mosain tiles, very cool.
Andrea adds: I could correct your spelling mistake … but it is much more fun to add your own correction in your 2nd comment!) 😀 Thanks for putting a smile on my face! Hugs xxaxx
Make that ‘mosaic tiles’ 🙂
Andrea adds: “Giggle”!!!
This is absolutley gorgeous Andrea….and has been added to my own “To Case” file 🙂 I have been trying to make a dint in this file lately, but it just keeps getting bigger and bigger! tfs xxx
Andrea adds: Hi Mel! I opened my “to CASE” file yesterday … and did 3!!! Yay! (I am planning a week of CASE cards for scheduled posts for my week away next week. I hope to do 6 or 7 if I can! Hugs xxaxx
Awesome card Andrea. The technique looks fab with the floral stamp & it does look like tiles. Love how the panel & border totally pops on your subtle white background. Yep, saw the pearls – sweet touch! 🙂
Looks like a glorious day – great to see everyone out enjoying the sunshine. 🙂
Andrea adds: It was a wonderful day … and thanks for the lovely comments on my card! Hugs xxaxx
I’m definitely going to try this technique – it looks so cool! Your colouring is gorgeous and those little pearls are the perfect touch.
Fab family pics! What a gorgeous day! Love how the dogs are keeping close to Skye – taking care of their girl!
Andrea adds: They are just the sweetest dogs … Holly is a bit of a mischief … she is still only about 18mths old … but she is so affectionate. We love them to bits! Jack is almost 12 (poor old fella) and Cody is about 8. Hugs xxaxx
Gorgeous card Andrea. That technique is really neat! Love it. The flowers looks so pretty! Great color comgo. I love the family pictures. Such a fun time!
PS: you don’t need to be a subsciber to CPC to participate in the challenge, but please read info on what you need to do… there’s a link from my post.
Andrea adds: Yes … I did go to the site … and read the instructions … but it didn’t actually say anywhere about who was eligible. I hope to have a go … once I get back from holidays! Hugs xxaxx
Aaaaw – that was the response from Miss 8 as she saw this card…. and I joined in…lol! Lovely family shots too. How is the Skye’s recovering leg?
Andrea adds: Skye is doing really well. Still has pain … especially if she has a big day. But … she is back to driving again … but still isn’t able to run or play any sport! She has another visit with the Doc tomorrow. Hugs xxaxx
