Stained Glass Technique!

on

Hello bloggies!

I am keen to open up my “To CASE” file today … and do some stamping … but before I do that I thought I would share a new technique that Tracey showed us at our Clayton’s Convention in May. (Yes … I still have a couple more cards to show from this fun event!) This is called Stained Glass … and is a really interesting technique with a real ‘WOW’ factor. Tracey is such a clever little chicken! I hope you can see the pretty pearl jewels that I have added to the flowers on the embossed background???

There is a pretty glossy look to this … that makes it look just like a stained glass window. So … the step by step details for this technique are listed on the card recipe below. The secret to this technique is creating a stamp made from scraps of rubber … stuck to a wood block or clear plastic block. You need to place the scraps of rubber so the edges are almost but not quite touching the next piece … leaving a small “gap” between each piece of rubber. I forgot to add “brayer” to the list of tools on this recipe! Sorry! 🙄

I also have a couple of quick happy snaps to share! It was such a beautiful day yesterday (when the wind dropped for a while) … and so I took Bree outside for a walk to see the sheep. Skye decided to follow and managed to walk some distance using her crutches. She has pretty much only gone to the toilet and back … so it was nice to get outside and get some fresh air! So … we spent a little time with the dogs and enjoying the sunshine! Shane was off to work … but managed a quick cuddle of Bree before he went. (He is usually the last on the tag list for cuddles!)

Stacey Shane Sandy Skye Dogs Bree
Skye managed well on her crutches ... out in the sunshine for the first time in almost 3 weeks!

So … I am going to stamp … yayayaya! It is so quiet here on a Saturday afternoon … with everyone out at soccer. But … it is pretty windy … so I am glad to be warm and snug inside! 😀 Hugs xxaxx

Andrea adds: Oooh … I hadn’t thought of that … but perhaps she will be stamper??? How excitement! I think Skye has overdone it a little today … after going and sitting at soccer for 4 hours yesterday. She had a bad night … and is very tired this morning! She insists she is off to Harry Potter at midnight on Tues night … but … hhhmmm … the mum in me says “not a good idea”??? Hugs xxaxx

Awesome card Andrea. The technique looks fab with the floral stamp & it does look like tiles. Love how the panel & border totally pops on your subtle white background. Yep, saw the pearls – sweet touch! 🙂

I’m definitely going to try this technique – it looks so cool! Your colouring is gorgeous and those little pearls are the perfect touch.

Fab family pics! What a gorgeous day! Love how the dogs are keeping close to Skye – taking care of their girl!
Andrea adds: They are just the sweetest dogs … Holly is a bit of a mischief … she is still only about 18mths old … but she is so affectionate. We love them to bits! Jack is almost 12 (poor old fella) and Cody is about 8. Hugs xxaxx

Andrea adds: Skye is doing really well. Still has pain … especially if she has a big day. But … she is back to driving again … but still isn’t able to run or play any sport! She has another visit with the Doc tomorrow. Hugs xxaxx
