Added: Monday 15th Aug … Looky Looky! Look what I got for this card … I am sooooo thrilled that even when my stamping time is so limited … I still get this sort of encouragement to persevere! Thanks so much Carrie (& the girls at PP) … this was a wonderfully special surprise!
Hello bloggies!
Well … off to school today to see Sandy perform in the school talent quest! I am so thankful that my sis has arrived down from Q’ld for a few days … and I am able to hand over most of the “mum responsibility” to her … at least until Sunday! Sandy is doing a drumming performance with his friend Hayden … based on the Blue Man Group. They are a drumming team that perform all around the US … and Hayden went to a show when he and his family visited the US last year. The boys are doing the plumbing pipe routine … and have been practicing for ages! Should be fun!

Today’s card is a challenge combo … Inkspirations #81 sketch and The Paper Players #58 theme – “School Daze”. I am on a bit of a square card trip at the moment … I have three to show you! Here is today’s card …
So … I have to run over to Stacey’s to pick her up before the show. It is kinda weird after 4 mths of visiting hospitals/nursing homes … to suddenly not have to factor that into my day! Totally weird! 😯 And … it is nice to have a brief respite from caring for mum … although I am sure it will ramp up again next week! I had better keep moving … I don’t want to be late. Thanks for all your lovely comments recently! You have no idea what a lovely “pick me up” it has been each day to stop in here and know that my friends have visited. It almost feels like you have popped by to share a cuppa! Big hugs to you all … you are what keeps me sane at the moment! 😀 Hugs xxaxx
Glad you got a little break today to do some stamping! This is such a sweet layout—I love the stamped alphabet! Thanks for playing with us this week!
Andrea adds: It was such wonderful therapy … thanks LeAnne! I enjoyed having some time out … and it was a fun challenge! Hugs xxaxx

Love the apples, love the color combination and a great take on the sketch! So glad you were able to get some crafty time to yourself. Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players this week!
Andrea adds: Thanks Nance for popping by to encourage me. Such a fun theme … just wish I had some more appropriate stamps for “school daze” … but it’s good to challenge yourself to work with what you have got! Hugs xxaxx

On fire lovely….great combo of both challenges. Love the jumbo outline home made DP…too cute and perfect for the occasion.
Hope Sandy’s performance goes smoothly. Is it the same group that paint themselves all blue??? Take care on the run around and I hope the Qld relief to the Gong works smoothly!! ooxx
Andrea adds: He won!!! He & Hayden won the junior section of the quest!!! They were fab … I wish I could share the video! And … yes … it is based on one of the routines from the guys who paint their faces blue. I am almost wetting my pants … cos I just looked in my calendar… and guess what … TOMORROW HAS NOTHING WRITTEN IN IT! NOTHING!!!! Can you believe that? I ran from the talent quest to a funeral today … then took mum’s car back to her (after being at the panel beaters to repair that bump from some slimebag who backed into it near the hospital … and took off!) And … now I am home … and sooooooo excited about tomorrow!!! 😀 The Q’ld relief is soooooo appreciated!!! Hugs xxaxx

Very cute card, Andrea! Square cards are always fun! The apples on the Crumb cake and light blue make a great combo! Thanks for playing with the paper players this week!
Andrea adds: Thanks Lauri for your lovely comment. I wondered if this needed something else … or some other colour to “lift it” … but I do like this Crumb Cake/Real Red/Bashful Blue combo! It usually works really well. Hugs xxaxx
