A New Colour

on

Hi bloggies!

I am trying to do this post on my mum’s iPad today. It’s not hard but because I am used to sitting at my computer … touch typing … I am a little slow. For some reason the text keeps disappearing on me??? So I better just make this a quick one today! 😀

I was drooling my way last night through my new SU! Idea Book & Catalogue for 2011-2012 (my sneak peek copy) … bookmarking some of the lovely samples to CASE … and although I was desperate to go to bed after a busy day at mum’s … I felt the urge to play! This was such a sweetie CASEd from pg 148 of the new catty!

So … Isn’t this a fabbo Colour combo! I am liking the new in-colours already! I did check the supply list AFTER I made this card … and what looked like Pink Pirouette in the book was actually Blushing Bride but I think it looks lovely using either. Did you notice the new in-Colour “Island Indigo”??? Oooh! Don’t you just love brand new goodies!!!! I didn’t have the background stamp or the die to match the original sample … but I think this is gorgeous just the same. Did you notice the “Island Indigo” brad? I used my sanding block to “roughen” the surface of the vanilla brad & then coloured it with my new II marker. I will have to finish this on my computer … because for some reason I can’t scroll down far enough on the iPad to finish this. Does anyone have any clue why that is happening???

After I made this card … I realised that it kinda fits the current Just Add Ink Sketch #80 (flipped on its side). If you “think outside the square” the loops of the bow kinda look like the two circles on the sketch??? Don’t you think??? I have added a couple of extra elements … so perhaps it may not qualify … but  … I haven’t had a chance to play along at JAI for a little while … so I thought I would enter this one, anyway!  🙂 I do love this sketch … might have to try it again … just for fun! 😀

I have several wonderful ideas from the new catty to CASE! I am going to have such fun! Can’t wait until Sept 1 when we can order! I already have the new in-colours … and a brand new punch (more sneak peeks!) … so I will show you more of them once I get a chance to play again!

So … I just realised that I said at the beginning of this post that this would be quick … but … I have rabbited on and on … and now it is another “Andrea marathon”!!! Can you tell that this is my therapy??? 😉 Hugs xxaxx

  1. Oh, this is lovely, Andrea! I love your tip about customising vanilla brads; your Island Indigo one looks fabulous.

I am still v much on the fence with the new In Colours. You card is beautiful however. LURVE the paper piercing on the petal punch…patience beyond words!!

Hope you are keeping a grip on ur sanity. OOXX
Andrea adds: Hello hunny! Thanks for the pep talk. And … I’m not iPad savvy … either. I can’t believe my mum is going to be better on it than me … once she gets the hang of it. Although … I don’t think she will be able to answer any blogging questions like I was asking yesterday. II & PP does bring back memories. I am keen for the Wisteria though … we need some more purple! 😀 Hugs xxaxx

Haha love how you made the card first and then realised it ‘fit’ the JAI challenge. Well done. Love all that piercing…for someone who wanted to get to bed you sure put a bit of effort in there. Gorgeous outcome!
Andrea adds: I know! Funny … huh??? I am still on mum duty (daytime mum sitting) so don’t have access to my stamping stuff during the day. By the time I get home … I need to attend to family stuff … so not much stamping happening at all. But … I am managing to keep smiling! Thanks for the lovely comment! Hugs xxaxx

Love this new colour – have used it a couple of times already myself.
Great case of the catty too! I’ve been too busy looking at the images of stamps etc to even look at the ‘ideas’ they have given us. Might have to try and do that later this week.
    Cheers
    Sonia
Andrea adds: Yes … no stamps as yet … but a CASE can work with substitutes as well! Hugs xxaxx
