Hello bloggies!

After 5 months of one family crisis after another … things are finally easing! Yay! But … unfortunately my mojo has taken a beating … and my brain is a little tired. Thank goodness for challenges … to feed the missing mojo … and to supply the inspiration to put ink to stamps! Sometimes I wonder if I have an original idea in my tired little brain … but … I am at least happy to be stamping again! 😀 I went browsing for another challenge this morning … and this colour combo just grabbed me immediately. Why don’t you pop by the Play Date Cafe and check out the gorgeous samples … and other past challenges for some great ideas! I have to say … (with a little help) I am thrilled with this card!

This sponged panel was created using a mask on the top and bottom of the card … so the sponged colour remains between the two edges. All the single black flower images were stamped before removing the mask … but the larger flower spray was stamped after the mask was removed. The white flowers are stamped with Versamark & then embossed with white embossing powder. This was also done BEFORE  removing the mask. The butterflies are stamped onto Vellum card … to give them a more “translucent” look … then I used my Versamark pen to add some ink around the edges. I sprinkled the white embossing powder and heat set the white edges. After dragging out my stickers for another challenge recently … I wanted to use them again and the white scallop stickers worked beautifully without overdoing it. I do have to acknowledge help with the inspiration for this card from Chrissie Stokes … who created a gorgeous card with similar details. I hope you all like my version.

Well … off to pack for the weekend. All my 3 girls … my m-i-l & s-i-l and I are off to wintry Katoomba for the weekend. We are going to a Christian Womens Convention … and I think it will be a wonderful escape & recharge for me! Perhaps I WILL come back ready to put together some original ideas!!!??? 😉  We leave early in the morning … but … I will try and get another “scheduled post” done for tomorrow … but that will be dependent on time. C U soon! Have a great weekend! Go the Dragons!!! Hugs xxaxx

  3. Ha ha… I never have an original thought in my head! That’s what the internet is for. This is a lovely card and so many different parts to it… I am so lazy, I don’t know that I would combine so many things in one card but this effort is certainly worth it! I might even finally do some stamping myself this weekend seeing the guys are planning a weekend of rugby, league and afl watching! Have a fantastic weekend.
Andrea adds: Yes! The perfect weekend for stamping … so much sport on TV to keep the boys busy! Think of my up at COLD Katoomba! Have fun … I am looking forward to seeing some new creations! Hugs xxaxx

  13. This card is stunning – the middle of the card looks like Designer Paper ! – alot of work must have gone into this. The ripple edge on the centre block tops it off.

Wowsers, I mean, wowsers!!! That card is amazing, and such a fabulous take on the challenge. You must have such a steady hand with your versamark pen. That is a great idea. You have really outdone yourself this time, just stunning!!!

Andrea adds: The V pen was a little tricky … but I was happy with the result. It made the butterflies ‘pop’ more! Hugs xxaxx
