Oooh … Christmas goodies!

Hi there bloggies!

Well … as you are reading this … I am lazing my way through 3 days break up at the Hawkesbury River … enjoying some quiet time “Australis Retreat at Wiseman’s Ferry“. I thought I would share a couple of fabulous Christmas Gift Card holders … as a treat while I am away! I made this cute stocking at Leonie’s team training night … where Kim demonstrated this little cutie. We just did the basic design on the night … and then I finished decorating it at home last Saturday.

You just have to check out my card recipe for detailed instructions on how to make this gift card holder. (I have changed it a little from the one Kim showed us.) I have also included a template for you to copy and enlarge! I’m sure you can manage to draw this up for yourself! Remember to enlarge it so it is the right size for a “credit card” size gift card. This pic shows the card holder OPEN … isn’t it a fab idea. You could even put a little ribbon loop on the top and hang it on the tree!

Would you like another??? ……..

Well … after I made this adorable (and useful) little project … I discovered another template on the SU! demo website … this time for a mitten and I turned this into a gift card holder as well. Again … full instructions can be found on my card recipe at the end of this post. If you want to print these recipes … open the picture file in a new tab and click “print”.

Do you like my “faux fluff” on the cuff of the mitten??? 😉 I used the cuff template as a base and stuck scallop ovals over the front and then trimmed them to the cuff shape (except along the bottom edge). There is a little bit of Bashful Blue sponging on the edges of the scallops and I just HAD to add some sparkle to this one!  FYI: I accidentally cut my cuff piece along the top edge … so the vanilla card on the inside is acting like a fold for the cuff! DUH!!! 🙄 The cuff is stuck to the back of the mitten pocket … folded in half over to the front and tucked under the phrase tag to hold it shut. (The stocking is cuff is held the same way.)

Well … I hope you are having as nice a weekend as I am. Pop back again tomorrow for another scheduled post! See you again soon! Hugs xx

    – Yes … we were watching the NRL too! But … sadly the Aussies couldn’t match the Kiwis in the rugby world cup. We missed most of that match … cos we were at the resort restaurant for dinner. So congrats to all my Kiwi blog friends … on your World Cup final opportunity. Hope you flog the Frenchies! Hugs xx
