Christmas is coming!

Hi bloggies!

I realise it is still 2 months away … but … because I am so late starting my Christmas Cards this year … I have decided that if I participate in any of the challenges over at INK4U! … I will make my creations Christmas Cards. That way I can “kill 2 birds with 1 stone”! Good plan … HUH??? 😉 So … I hope you don’t get tired of seeing them! I promise to pop a non-Christmas card in from time to time … so you don’t get too bored!!! 😀 This was a sketch challenge card.

This is such a “wow” card … but so simple to make! I “stole” my friend Kim’s idea of masking a background section … then stamping & sponging. Isn’t it soooo effective! I love it! I am not really a ‘blue girl’ … but I am LOVING this new Pool Party colour! I finally remembered to use my Crystal Effects, too … on the ornament … and it is lovely and thick and glossy! A fab finish! A couple of sparkly glimmer brads to add a little pizzazz … and all done! Well … I have procrastinated enough … off to work I go! 😀 Hugs xx

  1. How good does the Crystal Effects look? I like the new Pool Party too, we needed a soft aqua. I’m going to start Christmas cards in my hols (from 29th Oct, count down is on!). Might do what I did last year, a one or two day intensive, load up the dining room table and stamp like a crazy woman!

    – Apart from INK4U! creations … I am not doing any other stamping. (No time!) So … like you … I will probably be stamping “like a crazy woman” at the last minute! Thanks for the visual … and the giggle! Hugs xx 😀 😀

Andrea, it is so lovely to see a Christmas card that isn’t traditional in colour. I love the masked/sponged background and use this technique myself – so easy, but so effective. Love the CE on the bauble too. Just beautiful – like you ♥

I do love your sponging & stamping with a mask – I wouldn’t have picked it up just by looking at it, so I’m glad you mentioned it!

Gorgeous! That glossy bauble looks amazing, as does your masked panel, a la Kim! 🙂
    – The masking always is a WOW factor … and yet it is so easy! I forget to use my Crystal Effects … and yet … when I do I always wonder why I don’t do that more often. Hugs xx
