Precious Butterflies Brayered

Note: Cardabilities card by Julie is located at the end of this post!

Hi Bloggies!

Well … I did have fun this morning! I had a “day off” from Bree-sitting (her dad was home today!) … so I popped up to the shops quickly to pick up a couple of things … then I sat and made a card!!! Yayaya! And … I might even make another one after I have blogged this! 😀 I had a idea for the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge #34. Most of the girls had used DSP (quite beautifully … mind you) for the different panels … but I was trying to think of something different! BRAYERING!!! 😀

This card morphed from trying to incorporate 5 colours from the Color Throwdown #191 and managing the different layers of the sketch. Hhhhmmmm … my little brain was humming … and I was kinda thrilled with the result! I do love the colours in this challenge … and enjoyed playing with my brayer! This is one of those cards that looks even better IRL!

Did you notice the border? It is a clever trick that I have used before … the border is punched using a CORNER punch! Yes! … believe it!!! You can find the most amazing tutorials over at “Amazing Paper Grace” including this one -> Becca Bit: Right Angle Punching – Part 2. It is such a WOW! factor. The butterfly circle is stamped using markers to rubber and the butterfly is stamped on Vellum card … just to give it a more opaque look!

Patrice invited me to link to her 52 Card Pick-up again! I am keen to try and remember to link a card each week to encourage her in her goal to create 52 cards during 2012. It is not a challenge … but simply sharing of ideas and inspiration! Thanks Patrice! xx

Well … just one more thing to show you today …

This was a card my friend, Julie, made for the current Cardabilities challenge! I will pop the link over at the challenge site … so that she can enter the challenge. Thanks Julie for your efforts & support! 🙂 This is just stunning! Love the gold shimmer!
