After forecasts of a cold day on Saturday … it was a gorgeously sunny and quite warm day for Bronnie’s wedding! What a special day it was. We were thrilled to be invited and it was so nice to catch up with friends … including one of my besties who had flown down from Q’ld! It was exciting as I was making this card … to find that Hand Stamped Sentiments are doing a bridal theme for their challenge this week! Perfect!!! 😉
This one did take a little time. The pretty lavender edge is dry embossed with a layer of vellum paper on top of the Wisteria Wonder. It gives a lovely soft colour. I have also heat embossed the sentiment on vellum paper and attached this to the white card using mini glue dots. This is really pretty IRL. It looks like a layer of sheer organza on top of a shiny satin. All the white card for this wedding card is actually GLOSSY white cardstock.
Both the flower & bridal image are embossed with white embossing powder and coloured using markers. I have blended the colours using a blender pen. It is quite easy to soften the colour this way. You have to do the blending immediately … before the ink dries. I added depth on the bride and groom by colouring over in the same ink … but blending carefully to spread the colour. For the flowers I used slightly darker inks for the shadows & highlights. I was quite happy with the results!
Well … I just had to stop and post this today before I got started on my bookwork. Sigh! … I can’t procrastinate any longer … so I had better go do some! See you soon!
Wow – what a special card! Spectacular! Glad you had a lovely day on Saturday.
Hope you were suitably spolied yesterday for Mother’s Day.
Cheers,
Gabbi ♥

Another Lowcock stunner darl. I love the cut out rose border edge. Read the recipe…..but is does not say (I don’t think anyhow) what you used to get them. They look so v v special. Simply stunning card sweetie. ooxx

Hi Lynda! Another sweet comment … thank you! The roses are part of the “Life’s Special Moments” (ret. SU!) stamp set that includes the bride/groom image. (I have given this stamp set the wrong name on my recipe!) I embossed with white embossing powder … coloured the roses … then cut along the edge using paper snips! Thanks for your lovely feedback!
