I discovered a couple of new challenges this week. I knew that I had to make a male b’day card for my nephew … so with a lack of mojo … I turned to some ‘male’ challenges to help out! Mind you … both these challenges were pretty “general” … so I ended up having to think for myself … something I have been a little lazy with lately! 😉 The “Cards for Men” challenge blog is running challenge #10 called “Kicking Back”. Quite easy really … I mean “kicking back” could mean anything leisurely to a guy!!! The second challenge is from “Allsorts Challenge Blog” — challenge #154 – Card for a Man or Boy. So … I am entering this card in both challenges! 😀
So … I pulled out my Prismacolor Pencils for this card. I hadn’t played with them in a little while … so it was nice to use them again! I chose the DSP first … then went with the DSP colours to colour in my skateboarder! I am guessing that skateboarding falls under the category of ‘Kicking Back’! Instead of highlighting and shading with a different colour … I just added more of the same colour to build it up. (except for the vanilla on the T Shirt). I thought this was a “really cool” image … Saturated Canary “Skateboard” DIGI image … hence the “Real Cool” sentiment!
Well … have to fly … catch up to do!! I am away on a church camp for the weekend … so I won’t see you again until Monday (or so!). Hope you have a lovely weekend too! Hugs xxx
I had to have a wee giggle….Elegant Sioree DSP on a BLOKEY card…hee hee hee. Regardless…it looks totally FAB!!!!
I hope you have a great time at Camp. I am off to Craft Camp this w’end..much needed time out I think. Look fwd to catching up soon…..when I finally get to the e mail I promised you!!! ooxx
The card says it all – ‘Real Cool”!!
Love the colours & your little skateboard dude!
Have a great weekend!
That sentiment says it all, Andrea…”Real Cool”! Love the card. Hugs, Leslee

I have to say I think you’re a sandwich short of a picnic if you think my card is way better than yours!! It isn’t, period! Yours is so co-ordinated and brilliantly coloured that my coloured pencil effort pales in comparison. I’m out of my depth with pencils as I prefer water colouring but can’t do that on a digi image. My background technique is so simple and was a complete get out as I didn’t have time to match papers or think about a LO!! However, I appreciate you stopping by and you REALLY made me laugh, so thanks for that!!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I have to say … I was feeling a bit dumpy (down in the dumps) today … and your comment did make me smile! 🙂 Thanks for the lovely encouragement … and your amusing description of your card! I REALLY DID love what you did with your background! So effective and eye catching! Hugs xxx
Woohoo! Congratulation on you DD Darling award Andrea! Your circular card was gorgeous!
Your coloured skater looks fabulous on the striped background. My pencils have been having a vacation, lol, must get them out again. Love the triple twine ties. Hugs 🙂
Fabulous card love your image and your colouring. Thanks for joining us at CFM, good luck with the challenge. hugs Shirleyxxx
This card is “REAL COOL.” I love it!
