Fresh Vintage Sympathy

Hi there bloggies!

Off to the park with Stace & Bree … then shopping & lunch! Sounds wonderful … doesn’t it!? In a hurry … so here is this week’s Dynamic Duos #3 Challenge. I did mean to emboss the black strip (the ‘dessert option’ of the challenge) … but totally forgot until after the ribbon and buttons were attached! Yes … it was a bit too late by then! Thankfully the ‘dessert option’ is optional … so I can still enter this in the challenge. I did add the buttons and bows to this card … so I could also enter it into the latest Allsorts Challenge #155 “Buttons & Bows”! 😀

My stamping friend Leonie had a spare “Fresh Vintage” stamp set … and passed it onto me! Isn’t she a sweetie! 😀 I’m not sure if you can see the border stamping behind the ‘With Sympathy’ phrase? You can click to enlarge the photo here to see it a little better.  (Sorry about the photo quality! This was a hard card to photograph because of the contrast between the black and yellow colours! The buttons & bows are a sweet accent too! But … this is one of those cards that just don’t seem to show up well in a photo. The colours for this challenge are so beautiful together … and IRL … this is really lovely!

Well … I didn’t get this finished before our shopping trip! Bree had a lovely time at the “Park & Play” for Kids Fest. It was a beautiful day to be out in the sunshine! 🙂 And … it was nice to wander around our new extended shopping centre with Stace for a while. Lunch was really yummy! 😉

The card is lovely. The buttons and the border treatment are a wonderful accent to the pretty image!! Embossing is nice…but not every card needs dessert!!

Hi Andrea… don’t faint but I am finally back with a comment! You’d think spending so much time on the bed lately that I would have written profusely!! anyway… I love this card and even took the time to check out the two challenges sites. I stayed much longer on the dynamic duos though… it is so much easier to browse when they give you thumb nails. so here’s my question… does it cost more/ take more time for a blog owner to use thumbnails for entry links to their challenges. For people like me with limited time… being able to pick the ones I like best from a thumbnail is better! just wonder why some sites that are obviously popular and havelots of entries don’t do the thumbnails! Back to your cards… have been loving lots of what you have done lately… so need to stamp. I had to do one on the fly the other day as my box is empty and I haven’t been that disorganised for ages! sigh.

Love the buttons and the bow, but my fave part is most definitely the ruffled paper, I don’t do this enough on my cards yet I find the effect to be so beautiful. Gorgeousxx
