For the Boys!

Hi bloggies!

While I was sourcing stuff for the wedding … I found a site that had Sizzix alphabet die sets on sale for $15 each! Needless to say … I couldn’t resist! The postage was a bit of a killer … but still a bargain … so my self discipline flew out the window and I bought 2!!! Sheree’s fiance (Murray) had a birthday recently … so I tried them out for the first time!

You can also see another recent buy … the star embossing folder. I have bought a few goodies from different suppliers (new discoveries) … so am losing track of what came from where! But … I am enjoying having a few new options for my Big Shot! I pulled out some of my metallic bronze cardstock that I haven’t used in ages and glued it on top of the Bashful Blue card. Then I ran this through the Big Shot with the embossing folder. I added some Crystal Effects to the letters … for a bit of pizzazz!
This is one of those photos that was hard to get  the colour balance right. On the original photos the blue actually looked white … so I had to fiddle a bit to get some bluish tinge into the picture. It is still not quite right … but it was the best I could do! (There is no white cardstock on this card.)
The sketch was a past Mojo Monday sketch … and worked really well for this MALE card! Obviously I am too late to enter … but that’s fine! It is so good to have a starting point when you are a little lacking in Mojo!
Sorry … the formatting isn’t working in WordPress this morning … so this post is a little scrappy! Hopefully I will pop back later and be able to fix it up!????  — Added later: Is anyone else having trouble with formatting their posts in WordPress? I can’t get anything to work (ie. paragraphs, italics, etc).
Off to the school hall opening today … and plenty of bookwork to keep me busy! See you all again soon!

What a great maculine card Andrea. Love the textures and those alphabet letters. I keep forgetting use them, but they are sure helpful since you can spell anything. The twine and dew drops are just the perfect embellishments. The shimmery paper is very pretty.

Did you want to know about the Sizzix Alphabets??? I bought the Mango Tango & Cherish sets. You can save on postage if you have them posted without the storage case. Probably significantly cheaper??? I bought them in their cases … so I think I paid about $50 postage! http://www.ohmycrafts.com/sizzix-sizzlit-alphabets.aspx
Or … was it the star embossing folder? I bought this (& a heart one) from Lincraft ONLINE. They were both “Ezcut” Embossing folders. http://lincraft.cart.net.au/cat/2069237.html?page=1
      I hope I am not being a bad influence!!?? 😉 😀
