I ordered a new textured plate recently … an Ezcut impression metal plate. The problem is … I am not quite sure how to use it with my Big Shot … so if anyone has any suggestions … I would appreciate your help. This edge-ing took several tries & different sandwiches before I got an impression! It wasn’t very clear … but perhaps that is how it is supposed to look? I realise it isn’t a die cut … but I had hoped the impression would be a little more distinctive!? The edges for each of the three borders were ‘fussy cut’ … took a little time … but the result was worth it!
I pulled out my trusty “Very Vintage” jumbo wheel stamp for the background … the perfect stamp for layering with other images! Sorry … I forgot to add it to the card recipe! There is a little bit of hand colouring with the Pool Party marker on the Very Vintage background. The designed is CASE-d from Sylvia-Anne from Poppy’s Papercraft Patch. I just loved her card! I changed the design a little … but basically it is the same. Sylvia-Anne’s card is a different size & shape … a little more square.
A very busy weekend … Birthday BBQ brekkie at the beach for my M-I-L … 2 X knockout semi-finals soccer matches for the BIG BOYS! Birthday dinner @ “The Steakhouse” for my nephew’s 18th! Then after church on Sunday … we will have Gav’s mum & dad over for Father’s Day! So … don’t be surprised if you don’t see me over the weekend! Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Added Mon 2nd: Oooops! Meant to add this to Patrice’s 52 Card Pickup Week #35 … click on the link or pic if you need some inspiration for your card making! Lots of great ideas to CASE in the linky list! (As well as Patrice’s lovely inspiration!)
Don’t ya just love dragin out those L plates and playing around with something new? Good thing you have heaps of blogging friends who will give you all sorts of advice, some of it even useful!
My comment is do you have the Tan embossing mat? that is what you need to ensure these dies emboss well, I just keep adding shims to the stack until I get it right then I write down the sandwich recipe for next time!
Hope that helps. Your card is fabulous!

I love the lacy border at the top of your post today…I assume EZcut makes it. I went to website and tried to order but there is a $25 shipping charge. Do you know any other place where shipping is not so expensive…. Sharon

Hi Sharon!
Yes … it is an EZcut border … I found it online at Lincraft (an Aussie fabric & craft store) … and the postage was quite reasonable! (But … If you live overseas … I am not sure if it would be any cheaper!?) Thanks for popping by and taking the time to say hi! Hugs xxx

Do you have rubber embossing pads? I got ome from Papertrey and they make the embossing come out much better.

I cannot layer stamps and have it look good…but your layers are stunning! The background totally “fills in” the image which, until this moment, has not been one of my favorites. Your card is truly lovely!
Sounds like a busy weekend…enjoy!

Oh, how pretty! Such a beautiful and elegant card Andrea. Love the layered images on top, the colors… the paper piercing is such a nice touch. The dry embossed scallops/lace edges are perfect.

A lovely card Andrea, and that impression plate is gorgeous as is the layered stamping. Have fun getting the sandwich right, it can be tricky and each machine is different good luck – hugs xx

Can’t help you with Big Shot advice, as I have a Cuttlebug, but your card is totally GORGEOUS!! I love the brown/blue colors and those layered up scallops. Love how you curled the ribbon tails, too.

I think Kim S got it right….the balance of this is SPOT on darl. LOVE it…I think it is perhaps the colour palate…and that wee pop of blue. I use shims (CS or rubber) to emboss as you have but each machine is so individual. Sadly it is a case of hit and miss.
Can you FIT anything else into ur life??? Seriously missy….you are making some of us look v v slack!!! ooxx
