Stars

Hi Bloggies!

Another Christmas Card today!!! Don’t worry … I still have plenty of non Christmas to show you! I have had a run of cards that I needed to MAKE … so I had to make time to sit and create! Now at least, I can keep blogging for a little while! 😀 This is for the latest Christmas Card Challenge #41 “Stars”. I managed to use another 2 of my new dies … YAY! 😀 I am also submitting this card as a 2nd entry into the Sparkles Christmas Challenge #20 “Sparkle & Bling”

I knew the Christmas Tree with the stars was perfect to fit the challenge. That was my starting point. I fossicked around for some Christmas DSP and found some lovely Ski Slope Baja Breeze snowflake paper. Now I just needed a colour to team with the blue so I grabbed my colour coach & discovered that Cherry Cobbler was a good fit! And … it contrasted so well behind the Silver Glimmer Card (tree). Perfect! Now … cutting the glimmer paper with such a delicate die was a little tricky. This was my third try! I found that the best sandwich was …

  • Multipurpose platform
  • 2 thin card shims (I used the backing card from SU! DSP)
  • Cutting plate
  • Die
  • Card
  • Cutting plate

Obviously though … every Big Shot is different … so this might not work for you. The lace border was the same sandwich but with only 1 shim instead of two!

Well … it is finally raining. We do need it for our tanks so I am not going to complain! Bree is asleep … nice and snuggly warm in her cot. So … I am enjoying a little time on my computer! Hope you are having a nice a day as I am!

I can’t believe that I walked away from a store last weekend without that incredible die. I am in awe of how you put this together. I probably would have – much less creatively – gone with the tree on blue since it’s actually in the snow – and the red around that. But as I study your card, it has much more impact on the red! LOVE it!! (Now I just have to talk myself out of the hour drive to the store with that die.)

Oooh! What fun! I made Kim envious! Usually it is the other way around! It is a really special die … isn’t it! I will try and post another soon … just to help with that 1 hour decision! Hugs xxx

    Hi Andrea,

That is such a pretty die, especially when used with glimmer paper. Have you seen the new glimmer ink in the SU Holiday catty? had to order some.
