Under the Sea

Hi Bloggies

Spent a lovely relaxing day yesterday at Gav’s mums. We had a nice chat … yummy lunch and sat in the warm sunshine on her verandah! It was another Bree Free day … as Jono was home from uni … and was happy to keep her with him. I don’t know how much uni work he gets done … but I am sure the ‘daddy time’ is worth it! 🙂 Today’s card was a ‘commission’ from my son Sandy! Our YR 12 kids leave this week to prepare for their final exams … and Sandy wanted a thank you card for his leader for the ‘pastoral care’ group he goes to. Yes … ANOTHER male card!!!

All the new goodies you can see on this card come from Taylored Expressions. I have a little mermaid to go with this set … but figured it wasn’t really suitable for a guy card. 😀 You can see the fab waver border die (pool party & vellum edges) and the bubbles impression plate to create a water effect! Lotsa fun! I spent a ridiculous amount of time on this card … considering it was for an 18 year old boy … I imagine he has thrown it out already! 😉 But … Sandy was happy with it … so that is all that matters! 😀

BORING FAMILY STUFF ALERT!!! … Ree & I are off to the florist this morning to discuss wedding flowers … after I drop Sandy off to go up to Sydney. He is going on a bus trip with some mates from school (& their youth group) to the Exo Day (Christian Festival) with bands, skateboarding & xtreme sports, visual & performing arts, and messages to encourage etc etc. It is hard “letting go” … when your baby is beginning to assert his independence! I wish he could stay young forever! 😀 He won’t be home until 11.30 tonight!!!!!! Gav & Shane are off at a men’s breakfast … it is so weird NOT having soccer to go to … after spending the last 6 months every Saturday afternoon doing so! Skye has gone to Grenfell for the weekend … with her boyfriend, Mitch, to see his mum & dad & then his grandma in Cooma. We have a yummy dinner (out) to look forward to tonight … with some special friends. (We catch up monthly … a great way to keep in touch now our “little” boys are no longer playing soccer together!)

We have also been invited to lunch tomorrow with some “new” friends at our “newish” church. How lovely! So … all in all … a busy weekend. You probably didn’t need to know all that … sorry for boring you. I hope you have a fabulous weekend too! 😀

Your “boring” family stuff is SO NOT boring!! What a wonderful and exciting life you and your family lead.

I hope this card wasn’t thrown right away, but if it was, even an 18-year old boy would have gotten a smile and a moment of delight in the fact that this fun creation was for him!! (Personally, I think you should have tucked a mermaid on it just to get a reaction!!)
