I have recently fallen in love with the Stamping Bella range of Uptown Girls stamps. And … yes … have spent a few $$$ on these cuties! I do have a project I am working on with these stamps … but thought I would share some that have come off the ‘draft ideas’ desk … that won’t be in my final set of cards!

I was experimenting with different ways to colour these images … I tried watercolouring with SU! ink (was a nice soft effect) … I tried my blendies (don’t have enough colours as yet) … I tried colouring with SU! markers (nice but a little time consuming) … and these three cards were from another attempt using my Prismacolor Pencils & blending with gamsol.
I wasn’t entirely happy with any of my efforts … and definitely need to go back to the drawing board! I do love the Prisma pencils but am a little rusty with the blending! Was not too keen on the red/pink combo on the “Catherine nibbling chocolate” design … and was disappointed in my colouring of the “Perry on her laptop”. The last ‘practice’ design was “Maybelline loves mail” and I was actually much more happy with this one … but decided it had far too many colours on it!
Anyway … they are such sweet images I couldn’t waste them and decided to mount them onto some card stock … and pop them in my stash for a rainy day when I need something special! This amount of colouring is not something you would do every day on a card. It is just too time consuming! But … I have a few more ideas spinning around in my tired little brain … that I am going to try!
So … I hope you don’t mind that I have shared a few ‘duds’ with you. They are still kinda nice … even if not entirely up to scratch! I definitely need some more practice. If anyone has some tips for me about colouring detailed images … I would love to hear from you! Please leave a comment for me! 😀 Take care … and have a great weekend! Hugs xxx
Andrea your “duds” look pretty good to me. I don’t mind the pink and red – maybe because I have become accustomed to Ms 9 mixing colours 🙂
Look forward to your sharing the others with us.
Thanks for visiting and leaving me some comments too 🙂

I love them all Andrea. The coloring is so soft so it looks really nice… on all three. I haven’t touch SB images for ages!
