A busy, emotional week with Sandy finishing school … with just exams now to do! I will share some photos soon! Hugs xx
It has been nice to indulge a little lately on some new goodies and I have started following a few new card makers on Instagram and have all sorts of inspiration ideas spinning around in my head. I get excited about stamping … but then … don’t have the time to try out all the ideas that are out there! And … I have very little time for blogging … and definitely no time for blog hopping (VERY SORRY!!!) I am back to minding my grand kids and also am supporting Sandy with his last few weeks of school before he has ‘stuvac’ (study vacation) before his final school exams. But … I plod on … and I try and get here when I can!
Don’t forget … click on any photo above to see better detail! 🙂
So … posts will be short … but hopefully still happening! I hope you still enjoy what you see and visit often! Hugs xxx
Hi blog friends!
I am a little taken with the new-ish “Birthday Blooms” stamp set in the recent SU! catty. It is a super versatile little stamp set with a gorgeous flower that I have played with quite a bit lately! I actually think I bought this by mistake … but have definitely had fun with it.
So … I have done 2 identical cards using 2 different techniques.
One is coloured with Copic markers and the other is done using watercolour paints.
The Copic sample is stamped with black momento ink and finished with some pretty Clear Wink of Stella glitter.
For the second card … the image is stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto SU! shimmer white cardstock. I made sure the card was quite wet to allow the paint to flow into each section of the flower. I also did a bit of a wash around the flower. I have added some Wink of Stella to this one too.
Now … I was kinda desperate to play along with a challenge. It has been probably close to 2 years since I have done one. (It would be interesting to check back and see!) I do know that this is a bit of a stretch … but I thought the vellum scallop circlet sort of followed the latest Just Add Ink challenge wreath element???? A bit subjective … but I thought I would enter it for a little fun, anyway … cos that is what challenges are about — a bit of fun!! 😀
So … I think my favourite of the two is the soft, feminine watercoloured card … but the Copic card is also quite eye-catching and pretty too!
Hope you are having a great day. Poor Shane is having a bit of drama today after ‘spraining’ his ankle at soccer just over a week ago. It seems now that the original X-rays were ‘crap’ … and what was diagnosed at the hospital as a sprain seems now to be a couple of fractures, bone fragments and a possible dislocation requiring surgery. He has been at the hospital (the one where he works this time) for most of the afternoon and evening today. Let’s hope he gets a proper diagnosis this time and the proper treatment, too! Hugs xxx
Added 12 Jul: Well … I did check back … and I have done 2 random challenges this year … but apart from those 2 I haven’t done any since October 2014. It has been a while since I have done regular challenges … that’s for sure! 😀
I will need to edit some photos because I am getting to the bottom of my ‘to blog’ card pics! I do have more to share … but they need a little time getting the editing right!
I love the simple elegance of this card. It did take a little time for placement of the rhinestones … but totally worth the effort! The ribbon is a pastel lavender – I made this as an anniversary card for my daughter who had lavender bridesmaids … so that was just a little reminder! 🙂 The “congratulations” sentiment is stamped in silver encore ink.

I am keen to find some more charms but can’t remember where I sourced the last lot I bought! Can anyone help with suggestions?
Have a great day! Hugs xx
It is busy busy busy here … less than a week until we leave for our cruise … so I hope you will forgive me for another quick post! Sorry … the photos are a bit dodgy. There must have been a smudge on my camera lens.
I love how quickly this card came together! Apart from my stamping days with Leonie, Jenny & Tracey … I seem to always be making cards at full pace! In a hurry!

Gav and I are spending a couple of days in Sydney for our anniversary. We haven’t had a break in sooooo long and so have been looking forward to getting away for ages. We are hoping to check out VIVID … always a highlight week in Sydney and it usually happens to coincide with our anniversary so we have been able to see it a few times over the years.
No … this is not the card I made Gav for our anniversary. It is actually the one I gave Mitch & Skye way back in January! I know … more watercolouring!!! I seem a little obsessed, don’t I!? But … this was another early sample … I was practising a background ‘wash’ and used it as a base for the idea for this card! It is quite pretty IRL!
SU! – Cottage Greetings
Happy Anniversary to me! 😀 No. 33! (This is a scheduled post!) 😀
I dusted off one of my Stamping Bella stamps the other day … and it always feels good to do so! I still have to edit those photos … but I found this card in my files to share instead!
I have done a little paper piecing on the umbrella … just for a bit of fun! The image is coloured with my SU! Blendabilities … when I was first starting out with alcohol markers!
