Happiness is stamping with friends!

Sending lots of colour your way.

Hi bloggies!

Just a quick little card today … lots of colour … but sweetly simple …

We have a big cleanup going on at our place today. All the boys are here! (And the rest of the family too!) Imagine … a big 3 space shed plus another smallish lean to shed. Imagine … timber off cuts and tools … mowers and motor bikes … a ramp to ride bikes into the dam … a camper trailer … a rubbish heap … ski boots … fencing wire … a chook pen hidden by lantana … and the list goes on! We have to move out early next year for the next stage of development around our farm. So … we need to do a big clean up before we go. Then when we come back (2 yrs later and 97.5 acres smaller) … we can start planning for our new house. Sigh … we have been waiting for over 12 years … and it is still probably another 3 years before we finish and occupy our “dream” home. I can only take comfort in the fact that God’s plans are best and His timing is perfect.

Multiple Minis!

Hi bloggies!

I have several cards to share today. When I was doing my destash … I found a box full of these sweet little mini cards that I was hoarding in preparation for setting up an online link for purchasing my cards. Yep …. you guessed it …. I never got around to it!

I am not going to share all the details … there are just too many … but I hope you enjoy checking them out!

I have 4 of each design approx 10cm x 7.5cm … so perhaps I will pack 1 of each together into 4 multi packs and send them with Gav to sell at the pharmacy?? I also found a range of Stamping Bella cards coloured with pencils …. they are really pretty and I will share them next time!

Stamping Bella Unicorns

Hi again bloggies!

I am a tad tickled about today’s card. Sometimes things just “work”. This card was one of those times. And … the stamp set is soooo super cute! I can’t wait to play with it again.

I very carefully measured and cut the square windows separately with a Simon Says Stamp stitched square Die. Yes … it took awhile … especially as I always make 2 of every card design! But … it was definitely worth it. The adorable background paper is from a pad of 6X6” Doodlebug papers called “Fairy Tales”. It matched perfectly with tiny unicorns all over. The sweet little gemstones are also new … from “Little Things by Lucy’s Cards” and called Blackberry Mix Jewels. I got the papers & jewels from my friend, Melissa who runs a monthly craft retreat day and has her own local online stamp shop. I find it so hard to resist … I dare you to try! 😉 Create By Me Studio

Kool Kat – Cowabunga Dude

Hi bloggies!

Cowabunga Dude! Isn’t this the cheekiest little cat! I love the expression of joy on his face and imagine this is how all the boys in my family felt when they were skiing in Canada earlier this year! (And how Sandy feels when he catches the perfect wave!) 😀

This is a pretty simple card. The image is coloured with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and I added some clear Wink of Stella shimmer all over the top – yes – all over!! 😳 The Zigs react with the Wink of Stella to give a soft and sparkly watercolour look.

The front card panel is popped up with fun foam with some blue stripy paper to frame it. The sentiment is from a set that I have had in my stash for ages … no packaging … so no name … sorry!!

Bubble Chicks

Hi bloggies!

Here is the 3rd of 3 background experiments that I tried recently using my distress oxide inks. This was supposed to be a galaxy background… BUT … I made a mistake of wetting the sponged ink background with shimmer spray instead of just water!! The colours merged beautifully with this gorgeous sparkly shimmer on top and I just couldn’t bring myself to sponge black ink over the top! The galaxy background will have to wait until another day!

How super cute is this stamp set?! I had a quick look around online for a COPIC tutorial for colouring bubbles and was pretty happy with the result. A bit of Wink of Stella helps them to sparkle and look really pretty.

It is a little hard to see the background under the acetate window … but … trust me … it is super gorgeous! 😉

Tiny Townies Mermaid

I have enjoyed a couple of Saturdays up at Robertson recently at Mel’s Camp Papercraft. Last month my sis came with me and we played with my Distress oxide Inks. She loved them so much she bought some of her own! My last post was the 1st of 3 Distress oxide backgrounds that we tried…..

Today’s is the second ……

I have sponged some inks onto white card then used some shimmer spray to spritz all over a wave stencil and then pressed the wet side of the stencil down onto the card. The Distress Oxide ink reacts with the water and a shimmer impression of the stencil is left. (You can use ordinary water if you don’t want the shimmer look.) I loved this effect and will be trying it again for sure!

Once I had created this background I knew I had to use my new mermaid stamp set to finish off the card. I had lots of fun colouring these images and was really happy with the finished card.

Happy Birthday Shaker

Hello friends!

I mentioned in my last post that I get a lot of inspiration from YouTube. Another of my favourite card makers is Laura Bassen (laurafadora.com) and today’s card is inspired by THIS ONE that Laura shared recently.

So… for this card I started by blending several of my new Distress Oxide Inks all over the background. I love how the overlap of inks blend into a combo colour – which is especially gorgeous with these rainbow colours. Then the image is stamped with the same colour inks. Amazingly, the stamped image stamps quite a bit darker than the sponged colour. what a great effect!!

Pizza My Heart

Hello bloggies!

I get a lot of inspiration for my cards from YouTube and have several favourite card makers that I follow. Amy R (Prairie Paper & Ink) often creates her own backgrounds with repeat image stamping and often watercolours the images. I thought I would give this idea a try!

Sometimes Amy heat embosses the image which is a good way to “contain” the watercolour within part of the image but she has discovered that stamping with some inks (eg. Simon says Stamp “Barely Beige”) also “traps” the paint in parts of the image. This gives a “no line” kind of look to the water colouring!!

Today’s card makes me smile! Hope it did for you too!:)
