Whimsy – Abby & Jade

whimsy-abby-and-jade-sep16-5

Hi bloggies!

MMMmmmm … I was pretty tickled with this card. One of my first using my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers for watercolouring!

whimsy-abby-and-jade-sep16-7

The watercolour wash on the background worked a treat … and I found the colouring for the images flowed pretty well too! I have heat embossed the background stars using WOW silver pearl embossing powder and layered it over the black inked stars. It is pretty eye-catching in real life! (IRL)

This was a thank you card for a friend who helped me with a recent assignment for a course I am doing. She definitely has a way with words. And … I made a second one to put into my stash “you’re in my thoughts!”

Spring Flowers

Hi bloggies!

I love how vibrant the colours are on this card. I have done some watercolouring over a clear embossed image. I made sure the card was quite wet to allow the paint to flow into the sections of each image.

Sending Sunshine

pi-big-basics-sending-sunshine-sept16-2

Hi bloggies!

I am still feeling my way with my “Zig Clean Real Brush Markers” (watercolour pens). Even though all the YouTube videos make them look so easy … I am convinced it does take a little time to understand how they work best. I am sure that it won’t be long to get the hang of them … and already I am impressed with the different ‘looks’ that you can achieve. One thing that is for sure … the colours are super vibrant … and easy to blend.

pi-big-basics-sending-sunshine-sept16-6

I have bought some better quality watercolour paper since making these tags. The colours have blended reasonably well but some of the tutorials have mentioned that better card gives a better blend … so I am keen to try that asap!

pi-big-basics-sending-sunshine-sept16-15

The flourish background images have been heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The sentiment die is a super gorgeous one from Papertrey Ink who have a few of these “Big” sentiment dies. I love it … and MUST get some more! The die cut is white glitter paper with a ‘shadow’ created by cutting a dark grey die piece and slightly offsetting it against the white. This shadow definitely made the sentiment die cut ‘pop’ off the background. Can you see the sparkle on the flouishes? I added a little ‘wink of stella’ clear glitter over the top of all the images! Took a little while … but did add something a little special! Sorry the photo doesn’t really show how pretty it is!

This was a set of tag gift cards that I made for Sandy to attach to farewell/thank you gifts for our school office angels when he left school on his graduation day.

Sandy’s Year 12 formal is on tomorrow night … so I will add some photos as soon as I get a chance. I am sure it will be an emotional night … the end of an era — 26 years of schooling. I am so proud of the lovely young man he has become and I am sure it will be a great night of reminiscing and excited anticipation of the future! Be back soon … I hope. Hugs xxx

Sandy’s graduation day

sb-ug-clarissa-and-camille-share-a-cafe-aug16-4

Hi blog friends!

Has it really been over a month??? Really??? Life is just far too busy! Since the two girls have gone back to work after babies … and I have been minding kids across 3 days (not full days … 1 full day, 1 half day & before and after school on another) … I am finding blogging has been almost impossible! I am sorry! But … I will stop with the excuses and share a card ………… You may have seen this on instagram … but I finally got around to blogging it! 😀

sb-ug-clarissa-and-camille-share-a-cafe-aug16-2

I do have plenty of cards to share … even though regular card making has come to a halt recently. But … a couple of stamping days have helped replenish my dwindling card stash.

I hope you stopped for a moment to click on these photos … you will see each one enlarged and better detail of the colouring etc. I just L-O-V-E my Stamping Bella stamps … and am always happy with the result when I use them. Still on my “L” (learner) plates for colouring with Copics … but I am gradually getting there! I did heaps of colouring for some Christmas cards on a recent holiday week away with Sandy while he studied for his exams.

Sandy’s Yr 12 Graduation Ceremony – Sept 2016

Illawarra Christian School – Tongarra Campus (small country school)

Yes … my baby has his final school exam tomorrow (chemistry) … and his schooling days will be over. It is bitter sweet for me. 26 years of being a school mum coming to an end. I am proud of all that all 5 kids have achieved and the lovely adults they have grown into. But … I am sad that a HUGE stage of my life is now over. Done! What am I going to do with myself??? (grin)

Card Details:

  • Stamping Bella – Uptown Girls – Clarissa and Camille share a coffee
  • Simon Says Stamp – Sunshine Die
  • Copic markers

Take care everyone! Hugs xxx

Morning Cuppa!

morning-cup-su-jul16-15

Hi again!

One of my sweet delights in life is my morning cup of coffee. Not only did my dh (Gav) buy me a ‘u-beaut’ Nespresso coffee machine for Christmas 2 years ago … he also gets up every morning and brings me a cup of coffee in bed! Yes! He is DEFINITELY a KEEPER! 😉

morning-cup-su-jul16-4

morning-cup-su-jul16-3

So … I needed to send a card to a couple of people recently and thought … what better than a cuppa as a “pick-me-up”! I hope they got the link!!

morning-cup-su-jul16-6morning-cup-su-jul16-8

The navy and red card backgrounds have been stamped with ‘confetti’ images using silver encore ink. The images are coloured with COPIC markers.

It has been another frantic week! I hope to catch up tomorrow with some replies to your kind comments. Hope you have a great weekend. Hugs xx

Sweet florals

Bordering on Romance (su!) Jul16 (7)

Hello again!

Sigh … life is back to busy busy busy now that the school holidays are over. I have lots of projects to share … just need the time to get them on my blog! But … I won’t complain. Everyone has busy lives! Mine isn’t that special! 😉

Bordering on Romance (su!) Jul16 (2)

I know this looks a little like the card I posted recently … but I am much happier with the end result for this one!

Bordering on Romance (su!) Jul16 (4)

I haven’t used this stamp set in awhile … but whenever I do it works a treat. It is one of those sets that just seems to inspire! 😀

Yes … some more COPIC colouring! I managed to order a few more colours in the recent Simon Says Stamp COPIC sale. They are on their way to Australia as I type! I am soooo naughty!! 😎 Hope you have had a lovely weekend. Ours was very special!  Skye’s band “Pockets full of Dust” had a house party launch that was a great success and then we spent Sunday down the coast at our old family favourite holiday cottage at Dolphin Point with Stacey & Jono who were staying for a few days. We sure have been blessed with some wonderful warm winter sunshine lately! Hugs xx
